While completing your education in an overseas country, there are opportunities that you should not miss. Attractive options of Paid Internships Abroad are offered by universities or companies by which the student can gain work experience in addition to coursework. The benefit is that an internship experience significantly adds points to the student’s resume. The practical experience that is offered while interning, prepares the student for the career that he wishes to take up in the future.
The following types of internship options are available:
1. Part-time internships
2. Full-time internships
3. Summer internships
You should not expect that the internship must always offer monetary advantages. There are, of course, paid internships available. But in a lot of cases internships may not be paid ones.

Advantages
If the internship is paid, then there’s nothing like it; you can earn while you pursue your Studies Abroad. However, even if it is not, there are other important advantages that the internship offers.
The difference between part-time jobs and internships is that an internship is generally offered in the field which the student wishes to pursue as a career, while a part-time job may not be offered in the related field. The practical experience earned while interning would demonstrate to your future employers that you already have hands-on experience for the job that they will be offering you. This would definitely provide an edge while seeking prospective employers. Scholarships may also be offered to the intern. Sometimes the internships are credit based and give an opportunity to earn extra credits.
Co-op types of internships are available at various universities. Cooperative education(co-op) provides course credit for the practical work experience that a candidate performs.
Some country-wise Universities providing internship options are listed below:

UK: A lot of universities provide internship options for undergraduates and postgraduates who Study in United Kingdom. Some of them are;
1. Edinburgh Napier University
2. University of Central Lancashire
3. Sheffield Hallam University
4. Nottingham Trent University
5. Coventry University

USA

2. The University of Massachusetts, Lowell: Internships/co-ops for engineering graduates
3. Northeastern University, Boston, MA: For MBA students

2. Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin & Auckland
3. Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology

Canada
1. University of Windsor
2. Brock University
3. Cape Breton University
4. University of Victoria

Australia
1. Griffith University
2. Swinburne University of Technology
3. James Cook University, Brisbane

It is prestigious to secure a Paid Internship in UK, USA, Canada etc. with top industries in the sector. There are plenty of such opportunities available. However, the selection is strictly on a merit-basis with a personal interview stage for shortlisting of candidates.

A student must try and secure an internship either while the semester is ongoing, in the form of a part-time internship or during summer; in the form of summer internships. There are also options to intern after the course gets completed in order to gain practical work experience. These internships are often collaborated by the university, especially in case of Business administration and Hospitality courses.

An intern gets to have an in-depth look at the industry that he wishes to get employed in the future. He is also exposed to the challenges faced and the action plan that is required during day-to-day operation. This preview into the industry acts to catalyze the student’s career prospects in the future and build a practical base in addition to academic specialization.
