Nothing shocks Nigerians nowadays since successive governments have failed to win the trust of the people when the citizenry need them most. Governance in Nigeria is becoming more of an impasse that many are not sure where the country is actually heading to. For years, Nigerians had hope and still hoping that the benefits of governance will surely come into manifestation sooner than later. This has been the incessant hope of many and since they are incapacitated by bad governance, they only hope on the crumbs given to them.

During election period, Nigerians are used to the sight of politicians giving bribes. It is a bad sight to behold when politicians share cash to people who they seem to be hopeless and will do anything to sell their votes to anyone who will pay for it. Even some elite are not left out in the web of receiving bribes and gratifications from desperate politicians.

In the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, politicians who have nothing to offer their people will go to any length to buy votes from the people. If they are eventually elected they are nowhere to be found by living in ivory tower far away from the people until next the four years when they will come to seek for their votes again.

There are some Nigerians who will deliberately receive money from politicians who are desperate to buy their ways in elective positions but they will not vote for them eventually. I have seen many cases like that and those who receive such money will make jest of the politicians after the result is being announced.

Politicians and the voters should shun the act of bribing and money sharing in order to buy votes during elections. The future lies in our hands and we cannot afford to let it slide into the pit. No matter what the nation is going through and the way it seems to be, we shouldn't give room to bad politicians who will destroy our future and that of our progeny.
