A group of company into manufacturing, located in Lagos with international affiliations is currently seeking a company Legal Secretary.

Job Description:

• Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals and contracts.

• Handle all legal secretarial duties.

• Review of court processes and conduct, and monitor all CAC enquiries.

• Ability to initiate and complete any of the Legal Service Team assignments.

• Participation in all Investigations related to company matters involving staff and/or matters with possible impact on the company (external and internal).

• Draft and ensure standardization (to the extent possible) of legal documents such as Agreement to Lease/ License, Offer letters, Conveyance documents, Lease Deeds, License Agreements etc.

• Co – ordinate with and seek legal opinion, as required, from legal advisors.

• Represent company at legal negotiations and at courts / tribunals

• Keep abreast of and inform management on relevant developments in secretarial duties.

• Monitor performance of external lawyers/law firms used by the companies, if any.

• Handling of commercial and litigation practices to ensure adherence to the legal framework and facilitate timely resolution of cases:

• Monitor practice including structuring, drafting, and negotiating various types of transactional agreements, strategic alliance, joint venture, license, purchase and non-disclosure agreement with customers, strategic partners, lessors and vendors.

• Ensure periodic review of pending cases and provide required support to legal team to facilitate appropriate handling and resolution.

• Provide guidance in all litigation matters to ensure desired support to the business.

• Engage with the External Lawyers, Auditors depending on case towards ensuring successful handling and resolution of pending cases in different courts / tribunals.

• Provide a more effective legal protection and representation for the organization.

• Improve the capacity of the Legal unit, provide internal legal services to the organization and ensure legal protection for the organization.

Requirement:

• LLB, BL or LLM

• Minimum of 10years of work experience within company secretary duties.
Age 35 and above (do not apply if you are below this age, your application would not be process)

• Being a member of a professional association in the related field will be an added advantage

• Must be organized, have effective planning and stakeholder management skills, must be able to deliver to expectation, and will be an advantage if the candidate has an effective legal network with experience in company secretarial duties.
