The lifeless body of a yet to be identified young lady was on Friday morning discovered along Umuobasi Afara road in Umuahia the Abia state capital, causing fear and panic among the residents.

A resident who spoke with ABN TV said they woke up in the early hours of Friday to see the ugly development. The source who pleaded anonymity said the deceased may have been strangled to death and dumped in the street by suspected hoodlums.

When contacted the Police Public Relation officer in the state Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna confirmed the incident. He adding that investigation to identify the deceased and arrest her killers had commenced.

Meanwhile operatives of the state Police command later arrived the scene and excavated the corpse. A police officer with the human rights department from the World Bank Police station who led other policemen in the operation said some residents of the area had reported the incident to the police.

Man's inhumanity to man.

But why?such a young promising life.

Those that kill in darkness, will be exposed in the day and their deaths will be more shameful.

If it's a ritual killing, they just wasted a poor woman's life yet they can NEVER be as rich as Dangote / Bill Gates

I have always said this.

The National Censorship Board ( or whatever their name is) should sit down with Nollywood and thrash out what's acceptable what isn't. The Indian & Chinese Boards wouldn't even allow you to release films portraying their countries in bad light.

We need a cultural reorientation. All these movies about money rituals should be discouraged.

Don't do " he enjoyed for 10 years and then suffered the consequences" because there are people out there who would trade 2 years of luxury with a lifetime of whatever consequences.
