In Islam, the sin committed against GOD can be forgiven by HIM if HE wishes while the sin committed against human being has to be forgiven by the victim himself. eg...God says don't take any ones property unjustly and you went ahead and do so like arm robbery...Now, you have committed a sin against GOD for disobeying HIS commandment and 2ndly you have committed a sin against the owner of the property.
