Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Description
• Generate and remit all tax related returns to relevant revenue agencies/ authorities.
• Liaise with company tax consultant to produce timely financial position/ statements.
• Produce quarterly assessment of company financial position and forecast.
• Coordinate company budget and ensure strict adherence to budget provisions.
• Review all entries in accounting application software and ensure accuracy of data.
• Produce and issue invoices for completed jobs and follow up payment.
• Reconcile bank statements, daily charges and cash, cheques and inflows.
• Produce and update (weekly) Asset Inventory. A monthly report should be generated.
• Undertake regular/ routine audit to establish the level of company compliance with QMS and HSE policy.
• Identify items (consumables etc.) necessary for smooth running of the office and make necessary arrangement to ensure adequate provision.
• Ensure compliance with company petty cash request and expense retirements standards.
• Identify and propose areas of improvement within internal processes and services.
• Promote services and products to clients at every opportunity and as directed.
• Undertake various work activities relevant to the business as directed by Management.

Qualifications
B.Sc/HND in Accounting, Economics or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience.

Essentials
• Professional qualification with ACCA or ICAN or at final stage.
• Previous accounting experience and use of accounting software e.g. Quick books a clear advantage.
• Working knowledge of regulatory bodies relating to payroll, taxes and general business financial conditions.

Desirable
• Experience of working in an oil and gas engineering or consultancy environment.

Skills and Qualities
Competent with Microsoft Office i.e. word processing and excel.
Effective communication skills (both written and oral).
Ability to work in both large and small teams.
Ability to carry out tasks in accordance with defined procedures and instruction.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work under pressure without compromising efficiency.
Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision.
