The Grassroots Empowerment Initiative for Positive Change and Development on Monday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to cancel the just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections in the Benue North West senatorial district.

The group was one of the accredited election observers for the poll.

The group’s team leader, Mr Jimmy Feyisola-George, made the call at a press conference in Makurdi.

Feyisola-George said the call became necessary after the group observed that elections in the zone were marred by inconsistencies and irregularities.
