The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria yesterday started the quest for a ticket to the FIFA U-17 world cup on a shakey note as they fell 0-2 to Congo PR in Brazaville. This means they'll have to win by 3 unreplied goals to advance to the next round of the qualifiers. Recall that Nigeria hosted the last U-17 WC where they lost 1-0 to Switzerland in the final. Players like Sani Emmanuel, Stanley Okoro, Omo Ojabu, Ramon Azeez, Edafe Egbedi, Kenneth Omeruah and others are graduates of that class. Any hope for these next crop of Eaglets/future Super Eagles? The second leg will tell. Other results: Reunion 3 vs Angola 0 South Africa 4 vs Burkina Faso 2 Senegal 3 vs Guinea 0 Morocco 1 vs Gambia 0 Today's fixture: Lesotho vs Cameroun Congo DR vs Mali Togo vs Sierra Leone Benin vs Ivory Coast Mauritius vs Zimbabwe Zambia vs Ghana Somali vs Egypt Gabon vs Algeria Sudan vs Tunisia -courtesy of cafonline.com |

Well, all we need do is to win by 3 goals and it's very possible. |

I am sure those Congolese would have used over-aged players. Nigeria is now tilting towards using the right aged players but most African teams still age-cheat Not giving excuses anyways. |

Kinezeala: It beats me hollow seeing comments like these . These are the same people that are calling for restructuring of our football . You no send them abi? When they qualify for the U-17 WC make sure you don't watch any of their games Some people can be so, annoying. |
