18% OF NIGERIAN REGISTERED VOTERS VOTED FOR BUHARI MAKING HIM A MINORITY PRESIDENT

According to officials in Nigeria, the country’s population is about 200 million people. This is an estimate; it is an estimate because most Nigerian censuses are rigged so folks stopped taking official census figures seriously and rather estimate the country’s population (this is a unique phenomenon in the entire world).

INEC states that about 87 million Nigerians registered to vote. The figures released by INEC on the number of votes garnered by the presidential candidates state that a little over fifteen million Nigerians voted for Buhari and slightly over twelve million persons voted for Atiku.
This would suggest that about 18% of Nigeria’s registered voters voted for Buhari and about 8% of the Nigerian population of 200 million supports him.

If these figures are accurate, is Buhari representing the majority of the Nigerian people, as is supposed to be the case in a democratic society?
If only about 30 million registered Nigerian voters bothered to vote, why did the majority of 47 million registered voters choose to stay at home on Election Day?
Even Donald Trump was voted into office by, at least, 42% of the US registered voters. Do Nigerians have democracy and if so is it a form of upside down democracy where a minority president (with less than 20% of the votes) rules the 80% majority that did not vote for him?
I am not invested in Nigerian elections and could care less who won the election; nevertheless, a curious part of me asks these questions.

You are talking Bokoharam. Atiku won 17 states plus FCT making 18. Buhari is President for 19 States only. And these are Bokoharam, Fulani and Arabs States at the Border. Atiku is also The President of FCT which includes The Presidency, Aso Villa. So you are talking cattle & sheep counted.
