If you’ve never been to Lagos, or even if you have, LADIPOE brings a new lens to the big city with his latest single release, “Jaiye (Time of Our Lives)”.

From the Yoruba word that literally translates to “eat life”, we get an infectious and danceable ode to the parts of Lagos that come alive–or as POE puts it, from Lagos Island to Mushin Olosha, and everything these places inspire. “Jaiye” is a celebration of life, of youth, and of living in the moment.

“Sometimes we just have to acknowledge that we are alive,” POE says. “Despite the country being a tough place to live, we find those moments to enjoy life.”

The rapper teams up with multi-talented labelmate Johnny Drille, for this bass-driven
party anthem, complete with notable African House influences, lush bells and chimes, and a sing-along hook. Here we see Drille in his producer element, and POE as the perfect complement. The two show off an effortless chemistry, developed in their time together at Mavin Records.
