Lack of B12 can cause anemia, depression and even dementia. You can take B12 in the form of a supplement, or some people get B12 shots. Your omega 3 levels can take a deep dive if you decide to forgo all meat, including fish. Omega 3 is an essential nutrient found in fish oil that is vital to brain function, heart function and mental stability. It is also found in flax seed oil and walnuts, but some scientists fear that the forms of this fatty acid found in these foods are not actually absorbable by your body.
