At the initial stage of our works, we met the perimeters of the site determined, fenced with it's entrance gate.
So firstly, we need to build the security post first to serve as a store room for the main time.

Inside the site

The security post is proposed to be located beside the right leave of the entrance gate.

So immediately we commenced setting out and digging of foundation trenches and column bases.

Also we have to also cut through the existing walls so that we can centralize the column reinforcements in-between walls or at angles.

Foundation casted, columns positioned and casted,walled and finally sand filled.

After sand filling we ensured the area of the floor is properly consolidated.
Next we board the floor area and casted it.

Casting to finish

So next we form the internal and external walls.

We have to stop at lintel level for now.

So we have returned back to this site since 2019 it was suspended.
Some of the material were bought by our client and kept till we are ready to start.
Below are pics of the ones procured before this time.

So we started the setting out immediately.

Setting out and excavation. We dug the foundation trench 3 Feet (900mm) deep and column base minimum 9 inches (225mm).

Getting workers during this festive season is really a challenge. Because we plan to incorporate the locals into the workforce but as it failed, so we had to do with few workers we have and as well multitask to get work done in few days.
Below are pics of the excavation, mounting of columns, casting of foundation blinding, column base and foundation bed. Also we immediately started laying foundation walls on beds that has set. Also we prepared ground beams to fortify the foundation.

Works done

All foundation walls levelled for beam casting. Next we are preparing also for columns to be casted too.

Last week we did quite alot Iron works to form works for the chaining of foundation wall beam. The site is a sloppy one. So we had to play with levels as deemed fit. Pics below.

This week we are posed to round up with the foundation walls and commence with back filling and sand filling of the foundation before casting dpc.

With this 3 feet depth foundation, what's the minimum number of courses of blocks that can be laid to have only one course above the ground level?

Works has been going on past few weeks. So far the far the foundation walls has been levelled, sand filling commenced immediately. We use laterite and compacted before we fill to level with sharp sand.
Also conduit plumbing services were done too.

We hope to cast dpc by next week and currently our capenter is at work.

We have finished casting the dpc, we form the walls and started raising it immediately.

More

Metals works followed immediately and more blocks to the walls.

Plumbing works was done on it. We decide to extend the pipes to decking level.

Wood works for the lintel has been concluded and casting is taking off immediately.
