*** ARE YOU ROBBING AND CHEATING GOD? ****

One of the worst sin many acclaimed believers and Christians commits and are comfortable with it is that of “INGRATITUDE”. It is ingratitude that breeds covetousness, greed and selfishness in most believers’ Christian journey and personal relationship with God. They always have a bad attitude about giving to God and many are so guilty of the sin of covetousness that they actually rob and cheat God of that which belongs to Him without even realizing it. And they ask, “How Have I Robbed/Cheated God of That Which Belongs to Him?

Just look at what happened in the Garden of Eden in the Scripture, GENESIS 2:8-17. God gave Adam and Eve every tree of the garden to eat freely, but commanded that tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they should not eat of it as it belongs to Him. Out of disobedience and ingratitude, Adam and Eve did not heed to the command but went ahead to touch and eat the forbidden fruit, which lead to the fall of man (GENESIS 3-24). The above illustration shows the importance of obedience in giving God what belongs to Him and dangers of ingratitude (HABAKKUK 2:9).

It is written, “WILL A MAN ROB GOD? YET YE HAVE ROBBED ME. BUT YE SAY, WHEREIN HAVE WE ROBBED THEE? IN TITHES AND OFFERINGS (MALACHI 3:. One may ask, “Why Is God So Concerned About Tithing? Doesn’t He Own Everything Already? Well, the Tithe which is one-tenth of our earnings is the Lord’s, and meant for the work of our Lord Jesus and advancement of His kingdom here on earth. If you use your tithe for yourself, you are robbing/cheating God.

What about some that give as if they were doing God a big favour. Some give when the times are good and their bank account is running over, while others will just pack dirty and torn money and give as tithe as though they are tipping God. That does not show respect and love for God. Your readiness to give to the work of Christ is a solid witness to your love for Christ. If you cannot deny yourself money to pay your tithe, how can you be so bold to say you have surrendered your all to Christ or have faith and boldness to rebuke the devourer (devil) standing on the way of your blessings and destiny?

Refusal to give to God by tithing is tantamount to robbing and cheating God, and thus, removes one from under many of God’s blessings, while giving shows our submission and gratitude to God’s ownership and makes us to realize that all we have comes from His hand, not our own cleverness, education/qualifications, or skills. It also humbles us as we know that we don’t own everything but our sufficiency is of the Lord. When we learn to give our material elements, it is much easier to give our immaterial things to God like our soul.

It is also important for believers to be conscious of where they give their tithe and sow their seed. They should bring their tithe and offerings into a godly foundation and a fertile ground where the Holy Spirit of God dwells so that their blessings will not be stolen or diverted by the enemy (devil) that steals from ignorant Christians who tithe and sow on evil and faulty foundations that are not recognized by God..SHALOM!!!

Atheists have been calling his bluff for years now..

The bible verse would you rob God was directed at the Levite priest who lived in and were overseers of the tabernacle who were stealing tithes. They were in charge of distributing the tithes to the poor widows and children instead some of them were stealing. Let's not use this verse out of context. Plus this is OLD testament. We are under a New covenant.

There are no Levites and priests in the new covenant.
Now all believers are priests with Jesus as our high priest
We are to give offerings joyfully. Pastors are usually paid a set contracted salary.
Give whatever you feel comfortable with. Give to the needy not the greedy.
God doesnt need our money. The poor does.
