Police in Ogun State have arrested a 29-year-old man, Owolabi Folorunso Adewale, for allegedly butchering his 99-year-old aunt to death.

The suspect was arrested on Monday for culpable homicide at Maraisa Lane, Igan Road Ago-Iwoye, in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Ogun State police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the machete used by the suspect to hack Ebunola Aroboto to death was also recovered.

On interrogation, the suspect admitted killing the old woman, claiming he suspected the victim was responsible for the spiritual problems he had encountered.

The suspect, Oyeyemi, also claimed his aunt always used his “supernatural power” to block him from winning anytime he played lotto.
