The joy of a few is the pain of multitude. Nnpc must be sold for Nigeria to have a functional refinery. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

soulpeppersoup:NNPC is not a refinery or refineries. Dangote is building the largest single refinery in the world in lagos, and it is expected to be functional by the end of next year. It has little with NNPC,except licensing and regulations. If you do not know the functions of NNPC, check their website.

wirinet: so people like this still exist ? in the link you pasted there can't you see that one of the functions of NNPC is to refine? But they will rather import an already refined product since they make Huge money from the imports 1 Like |

Bungalow:You are too emotional. Were these corporations working effectively before privatization? Government only paid workers and other expenses without meaningful return every year, so now government has partially solved the problem hoping that these new investors would manage them as profit oriented company. 3 Likes |

richidinho: Obviously, you have nothing tangible to say. If I should tell you the year I did JAMB and my scores, you cannot not measure up on any level. Ojoji:My brother, it's not a matter of emotions, it's a matter of history. We have had terrible experience of privatisation in the past, especially under the government of Obasanjo/Atiku. A few examples are NITEL, ANAMMCO, Daily Times, NICON Hotels, NICON Insurance, Delta Steel Company, Ajaokuta Steel Company, NEPA, NIPOST, NigerDock and many more. The privatisations at best did not lead to improved services, at worst it was a scam. Now NNPC is a different ball game. Do you know the number of subsidiaries under NNPC? Ordinary the four refinery subsidiaries that was shabbily done by the Obasanjo/Atiku regime was immediately reversed by Yaradua, and you are now talking about the selling of the whole of NNPC. So you want private companies to market and sell Nigeria's crude for us? Please give me an example of any country in the world that had privatised it's national oil company. 2 Likes |

Bungalow: Oga NEPA is better now than b4. I use prepaid meter and my area has above average supply of power. PHCN has better well civilized workers than the then NEPA. Privatization is a walk in the right direction not an arrival at the direction destination _ soulpeppersoup. 1 Like |
