What is the basis of the so-called success other than fighting for political offices and taking undue advantage of one's authority and influence to steal public money. For example, what productive activities made Saraki, Ekweremadu, Akpabio, Modu Sheriff, and such other 'public fund thieves' wealthy? We must villify ill-gotten wealth to encourage productive activities.

Bouyed by bountiful earnings Venezuela was import-dependent and has corrupt visionless leaders like Nigeria. The fact is that if Buhari did not take over in 2015, Nigeria would have been like Venezuela today. But his conservatory tough decisions stemmed the slide moving Nigeria in and out of inevitable recession. He insisted on taking advantage of our other areas of comparative advantage through diversification and local production.

So I believe Buhari's 2nd term can only lift Nigeria forward to significant real economic growth. The worst is over.

The foreign countries are finding it to convince Buhari to do their bidding so they resort to blackmailing. What a shame some Nigerians are celebrating this criminality

Thank you.

Venezuela and Nigeria suffered from the curse of the black gold and became mono economies dependent on oil as a main/sole source of revenue, that shattered once oil prices fell sharply. However this is where the parallels between Nigeria and Venezuela ends.

While Venezuela had Maduro who struggled to keep their economy afloat but failed woefully since they had no other major resource, President Buhari through his diversification policy (Agric contribution to GDP has already doubled) , import substitution (which Nigerians cried against) and TSA to curb waste, was able to shepherd the Nigerian economy out of a recession in less than 3 years and went on to secure a landslide reelection while Maduro got rejected by his hungry citizens and got kicked out.

And Reno is happy about the news

Anyways, Nigeria is far ahead of Venezuela.

Presidential elections is over
No war or tension
No international sanctions
No recession

They predicted more than this in 2015..,

Nobody even noticed that Fayose did not drop any prophesy this year

The hate and bile being spilled by these so called new age democrats from PDP is becoming nauseating.

How can any sane human being prepare for a fight for 4 years and not imagine the possibilty of losing?

They should allow the vast majority of the 200 million sensible people in Nigeria have peace.

You guys are so shamelessly dishonest.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, VENEZUELA DID NOT FAIL BECAUSE OF LOW OIL PRICE, VENEZUELA FAILED BECAUSE OF ITS SOCIALIST AND ANTI MARKET POLICIES. And if you have been paying any attention, you'd know that APC is simply an assembly of the opportunistic socialist hypocrites. Their aim is to convert this nation into a giant socialist machine, where they and their cliques will be living off the rest of the intentionally pauperized masses

Back to the gist:

The oil price has long rebounded and is now higher than what it was in 2014/2015

The fuel pump price has nearly doubled (since 2017) compared to what it was in 2014.

Nigeria's oil output has remained very stable since the last 3 years.

Yet, in spite of these positive factors, Buhari and APC have constantly failed to return the GDP back to where it was when they took over in 2015.

If truly Buhari and his APC gang are fighting corruption, blocking loopholes and managing the economy well, the least they could do was to stabilize the decline of the GDP.

But nope.

Not only did Buhari and APC drive the economy into its first recession in over 25years, they have also nearly wiped out the middle class and drove the multitudes of investors away in droves.

Mind you, unlike the clueless APC, when PDP took over in 1999, oil was about $18 per barrel (much less than what APC got since 2015). On top of that, the county was terribly indebted and isolated due to its years of military abuse. Yet, the PDP did not blame anyone.

Instead, they went straight to work, assembled a team of seasoned Nigerian technocrats from around the world, fought corruption, grew the economy, brought back multitudes of investors - without going into recession once.

PDP did all that from 1999 with just a fraction of what APC has been getting from oil since 2015.

Yet, you ignoble goons won't quit spewing falsehoods and crappy silliness in support of an obviously failed régime with an APC tag.

The election was rigged. Opposition voters were suppressed. And their votes were brazenly wiped out in many cases.

But even if that's not the case, your so called victory was enabled by less than 8% of the population. How's that credible, when 92% of the population did not give you their mandate?

In a sane country, that election would have been canceled.
