When people hear about money, grin their attention is usually caught, they want to know how to go about it…………..

Financial Literacy is the ability to manage your money well, keep records, plan ahead and make informed decisions about financial products and services.

Financial freedom entails living your best life while doing what matters most to you with those who matter most to you. It’s about doing life at your terms and conditions. This definitely cannot happen without economic power.
Many people want to be financially free, but they have not been equipped with the adequate knowledge and attitude to make it happen. Building wealth is simple, although it’s not easy, it has a strategy - Make more than you spend and invest the difference wisely. Money is beyond paper; Money is value exchange! You must learn how to Earn, Retain and Multiply money. This is the heart of what we do in this CDS Group.

The Financial Literacy Community Development Service (CDS) Group is a new CDS Group that was launched as a platform to increase Financial Inclusion in Nigeria. It is currently a Pilot scheme in 12 states of the Federation. The CDS actively runs a Social impact program which is known as the National Peer Group Educator Programme on Financial Inclusion. This programme is organized by The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (FMYSD) in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in partnership with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), National Pension Commission (PenCOM), Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Association of Non-Bank Microfinance Institution of Nigeria (ANMFIN) and GIZ (Germany) to sensitize and educate the public on Financial Literacy.

We educate our immediate community based on a structured curriculum that was carefully designed by scholars around the world in conjunction with the European Union using the SEDIN programme of GIZ that covers a wide range of topics which includes but not limited to the following – Savings, Investment, Financial Planning & Budgeting, Record Keeping and Cash Flow Management, Risk Management, Fraud and Scams.

Despite the fact that we are relatively new and few in number, we have made enviable and sustainable impact in our community. In the last 5 months, here in Ilorin South Local Government, Kwara State,

We have reached out and inspired over 1600 students in Eight (cool Secondary schools.
We have exhaustively sensitized over 100 Market women and Business men at Pake, Post Office, Challenge and Tanke, markets sensitizing them on the importance of Savings, how to take loans, Record keeping and the importance of having a bank account for their business in order to help them scale.

We have also been live on Radio (Midlands FM 99.0 and O’FM 92.5) to sensitize the general public about the following topics – The History of Money, Financial Planning & Budgeting

In a bid to provide solution and meet needs, we have identified a community that is a hub of economic activities that does not have easy access to financial services. We have decided to provide them with Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). This is a massive project we have been working on for the past few months and it has gained approval with the appropriate authorities. Modalities are been put in place to make it a Reality.
