Drowsy driving

The risk and often tragic results of drowsy driving is alarming.Drowsy driving is the dangerous combination of driving and sleeping or fatigue.

This usually happens when a driver has not slept enough or due to tiredness. The effect of this is that you often see drivers sleeping off behind the wheels which could lead to accidents.

Driving during bad weather conditions

Poor visibility and/or slippery roads that are mostly caused by bad weather conditions is another factor that can increase accidents on roads, and most drivers are guilty of this.

In the case of bad weather conditions, park your car till the weather conditions improves.

Taking phone calls

The obvious implications of making calls on the road even if you go hands free ,it is just as dangerous as using a handset. In fact drivers Remain dangerously distracted even after they have hung up.

Not obeying right-of-way rule in round-about

Most drivers are unaware of the right-of-way rule which is the standard round-about rule,i.e priority is given to the vehicle coming from the right way. Thus drivers need to concentrate on only one hazard, but most drivers today are guilty of not following this rule.

Driving without insurance

Alot of drivers are guilty of this as they tend to drive their vehicle without insuring it .The implications of this if caught by the appropriate authorities include

Vehicle impounded and loss of registration
Prison sentence
Financial consequences

Drink driving

Driving under the influence of alcohol is a great offence and punishable by law and many drivers are guilty of this. This is one of the major causes of road accidents today.

Ignoring traffic lights

We all know the yellow light means you should slow down your car in preparation of the red stop light, but all too often most drivers choose the rather unsafe tactics and speed right through to avoid being held up.This is one of the major causes of collisions in our road.

Driving a faulty vehicle
All too often drivers tend to drive their car even if it is faulty. We have heard of cases of brakes failing on the road, tire bursting on the road, this has lead to alot of accidents.
