One youth has died while two others sustained injuries following a fight among youths in Jambutu, a community in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

It was gathered on Thursday that the incident happened Tuesday night as the youths fought for a yet to be ascertained reason, although the youths were said to be returning home after a party in the course of the night.

Jambutu is a sprawling residential area near the bank of River Benue and it’s notorious for flooding and petty crimes.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Othman Abubakar, who confirmed the Tuesday incident, gave the name of the deceased as John Jada.

He said, “Youths returning from a night outing engaged each other in a fight at Rumde Baru in Jambutu. One John Jada was fatally wounded and he later died.”

He affirmed that two people were wounded and had been taken to hospital while the police arrested three other people over the fatal fight.
