Calibrated to possibly instil fear, enforce voter apathy and with barely hours to the commencement of voting in the 2019 Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Akwa Ibom State, a section of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ibesikpo-Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has been destroyed with the use of explosives by imported thugs and rogue elements. A visit to the scene shows that electoral materials had been burnt in the affected offices in the building, but the commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr Mike Igini, said sensitive materials meant for the conduct of the election on Saturday were not destroyed...
