Atiku Back To London Day After Election by Mamajama(m): 4:01am On Apr 26, 2007 |
I Think ATIKU just escape in my opinion, I guarantee he wont be back BARELY six weeks after undergoing a successful surgery in London from injury sustained in a domestic accident, Vice President Atiku Abubakar yesterday went back for a post-surgery check-up. The Vice President had during a routine exercise broken a tendon in his knee and was referred to London Bridge Hospital, United Kingdom for surgery by State House doctors. He returned home after the successful operation with a metal bracelet and crutches to begin the healing process. A statement from the media office of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation made available to Daily Champion noted that Atiku was scheduled to undergo the post-surgery evaluation last Monday but delayed his trip by two days to attend the meetings of opposition parties on a collective response to the just concluded elections. According to the statement, the Vice President, while in London, will undergo further tests to check the progress made so far since the surgery. The outcome of the tests, will determine the programe for his knee rehabilitation. The statement informed that Atiku is expected to leave London for the United States of America on a private visit before returning to the country. http://www.champion-newspapers.com/news/article_3.htm |

I wonder what the medical cost is for ATIKU without insurance in London. my son was in the hospital for 2 days and the cost in the state was $9856. do the math this guy has no insurance, |
Re: Atiku Back To London Day After Election by OgidiBoy(m): 4:34am On Apr 26, 2007 |
It really does make me wonder, maybe health care is cheaper in London, or maybe as a vice president he has some kind of international health insurance we don't know about. I had knee reconstruction surgery last year. My insurance company covered 80% of the bill but my out of pocket was still over the roof. |
Re: Atiku Back To London Day After Election by Mamajama(m): 1:21pm On Apr 26, 2007 |
Thank you, this are valid issues that should the press should be asking MR ATIKU who is paying for his medical bills? and why can't he help change Nigerian medical system? does that means we don't have qualified doctors in Nigeria? I think this is an attempt for him to escape from prosecution. |

Another question is why is he running to London for medicare. Does that mean that there are no good hospitals in Nigeria. If that is the meaning, one is forced to conclude that ObJ administration of which Atiku is a key player has failed the Nigerian State. What is now the brain behind bringing Y'ardua as a president of the federal republic. Is he going to replicate his predecessor's 'good work'? |

I personally prefer Yar Adua to this fat neck ATIKU. In my opinion, ATIKU has no common man interest at heart at all. all he is worried about is how to cover his ass from prosecution. This is a follow up schedule that any doctor in Nigeria could have examined. |

@MAMAJAMA your argument is always off the mark, and comes with a lot of sentiment.i will like to advice you to go to that same hospital and have a brain check-up b'cos u are as sick as OBJ.i've come to realise that either u are a lousy yoruba man or just having a diarhoea mouth. |

@uleh_j, That personal attack is uncalled for. I share the same view as Mamajama. Atiku is no more than a self centered glut who's only interest is to enrich himself (and his cronies) and escape prosecution. It is a testiment to his overwhelming selfishness that he couldn't even consider any of the medical centres in Nigeria for a checkup. His twisted knee is more precious than the lives of those he aims to lead. But off course I don't expect the Press will condemn him. Expect no criticisim from Thisday, Sun, theNews as most of these are either beneficiaries of his largeese or seriously compromised in one form or the other. |

uleh_j This is why we have people that their parents should have used the ALTERNATIVE B option. and save us Nigerian the ridicule and embarrassment of people like you. Tell me one thing punk. If the Nigerians hospital is good enough for the poor people in Nigeria, why can;t ATIKU lead by example and go to LUTH or some other medical center in Nigeria? don't we have private hospitals in Nigeria with efficient doctors? do you have an idea how much his trip is costing with all his entourage that will be on board with him? Lots of people might not like OBJ but the man has not gone abroad for any treatment, praise him for that. |

@ Mamajama honestly u have allowed sentiments to overcloud ur views, Are u unaware that the same Yar Adua went to Germany for medical checkup? why can;t Yar Adua(A President Elect), lead by example and go to Abuja General Hospital or some other medical center in Nigeria? U r not even based here in Naija n uve got this strong animosity against Atiku, Do u know him personally or something? |

Someone should help us tell that thief that Umaru is kind and will not arrest him. Why is he runnong to London? We should encourage him to spend his stolen money to invest in Nigeria since Nigerians seem to be in love with a thief. |
Re: Atiku Back To London Day After Election by joshO: 7:27pm On Apr 27, 2007 |
You don't need to be based in Nigeria or know Atiku "personally" to see his lack of character and patriotism that comes through. Yar'Adua went to Germany for a Kidney problem, not a "twisted knee" for christ sake. Atiku has zero faith in our nation. He gets a 1 week vacation as VP and he travels to his Maryland mansion to "rest". He probarbly holds more meetings in Maryland and London than he does in Nigeria. Yar'Adua hasn't vacationed abroad and hasn't set foot in the US before let alone own a mansion there. It's a shame that in Nigeria we judge our leaders by the rhetoric they spew out of their mouths and not their deeds. PDP may have rigged this elections, but the precedent was set when Atiku mastermined the same electoral fraud in 1999 and 2003. Of all the candidates that lined up for this election, Atiku was the least competent by miles. I don't mind listening to Buhari complain, but Atiku is a fraud, fraud, fraud. |

There is a saving no matter how many times you wash a leopard you can't wash away it's stripe. some people no matter what are so shallow minded and will not see how ATIKU has defraud this nation. 90% of the teachers in his school in Minner are Americans. Tuition is paid in $ and he want to rule this nation. I don't have to be in Nigeria to know what is going on in Nigeria. I come to Nigeria on regular basis and I have my source. $120 Million mismanaged by this fat neck ATIKU if that money was invested to build a state of the art medical facility can you imagine how many lives that will touch? |

the simple truth is dat Atiku is not confident in the Nigerian people not to talk about the hospitals. But I only blame him partially because almost everything in Nigeria is imported and he decided to go to the sources for checkup but if they had invested in the society and we had visionaries we would be paying the experts to make the equipments instead of buying the products. |

why complain about where atiku goes for treatment. after all Yar adua flew to Germany for kidney dialysis which could have also been done at UCH or LUTH. Adefarati that decided to have faith in Nigeria by going to FMC Owo what happened to him, MAMAJAMA:well there are other schools in nigeria that charge in dollars, and find out the equivalent of the fee and compare with other private schools u will see there is no much difference. |
