A feature has been added to the newly released version of WhatsApp (version 2.18) which enable one to create their own stickers instead of using the default stickers in WhatsApp. There is now a new option in emoji section of the app called stickers. Create the image you wish to use as your sticker without background (PNG file format). Because WhatsApp only accepts images or pictures without background for stickers. How do we create an image and remove the background to be able to use as our sticker then? How to convert your photos into a transparent or no background; from your smart or android phones, go to the Google play store and search for “background eraser app”.
Download the app and install as directed appropriately, and then open the image you wish to convert to a sticker, erase its background and crop it.

Save the image in PNG format as WhatsApp only supports PNG formats image for stickers. Note that you can create at least three images per pack. It should not be less than three images per pack for a sticker.

Next is to download “personal sticker for WhatsApp” app from the Google play store. Open the app and then, it will automatically detect all the stickers you have created.

Tap on “add” button located beside the sticker and tap on “add” again when asked. Once you are done adding, open WhatsApp app and go to the stickers section by pressing emoji icon from the left of the text box.

Select the stickers’ option and search for the one you have created and added. Send it as you wish by tapping it.
