mosgoon:Lol I thought same regarding the 3m dollars also. But the 1m dollars salary that Google CEO gets per annum is not his total pay. He also gets paid in stock and it can get as high as 200m dollars per annum. I believe you should also be aware that he's worth over a billion dollars. Mind you most Nigerians will definitely accept 1million dollars to resign from their company right here and now so let's tone down on this interest talks. 1 Like |

Mitocyan:i was referring to pay. "let's tone down on the interest talks''...i believe you don't understand where i'm coming from. If you are applying this logic, then it's no different than any other money talk in any facet of life. This is different. This context refers to navigating gradschool, jobs, networks, countries...for success |

Mitocyan: After your so called post graduate studies.. in most cases you'll find yourself back in the labour market competing for a chance like the NNPC and others. Trust me, there is no preference as regards your MSc or its likes. So, if the NNPC job comes, pls and pls jump at it. You may regret if u don't..... Thank me later! One luv! 4 Likes |

Belac290: Did Exxon employ all the graduands? Remember it's not about your friend, it is about you. All man on your own! There may be opportunities out there to get absorbed by multinationals, but have it at the back of your mind that you may not get any offer even 5years post graduation "God forbid". Your friend might be lucky he graduated when there was chance and recruitment exercise. Just be open minded. 6 Likes |

NNPC reveals rehabilitation ongoing in PH Refinery Date: August 12, 2019Leave a comment NNPC reveals rehabilitation ongoing in PH Refinery The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said that the rehabilitation of the two Port Harcourt Refineries was still ongoing. Mr Ndu Ughamadu, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affair Division disclosed this in Abuja, on Monday, August 12. The first refinery in Port Harcourt was commissioned in 1965 to process 60,000 barrels of oil per stream day (bpsd), as well as the second plant commissioned in 1989, which has a capacity of 150,000 bpsd. 1stnews reports that both refineries have a combined capacity of 210,000 barrels per stream day making it the biggest oil refining company in Nigeria. They both had the last Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) in 2000. Also Read: Ganduje mandates district heads to shun Emir Sanusi during Sallah Ughamadu said that the rehabilitation was part of government’s effort to get the refinery working, adding that the consultant and the contractors engaged by the NNPC were still on the ground working. “The rehabilitation effort in the Port Harcourt Refinery is still on and the contractors are there with the consultants and ENI is equally there. “As we said earlier, we are funding the rehabilitation from internally generated revenue, because all our effort to get external financiers did not work because their terms were not in terms with what we expected,’’ he said. He said that the contractors were still working within the time frame and might conclude what they were doing before the given time frame. “Our expectations are that after the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery, we will kick-start that of the other two refineries. “We just want to use the Port Harcourt as an example,’’ he added. It was reported that in March 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Italian oil giant, ENI and NNPC in Rome. In the MoU, ENI was committed to the refurbishment of the Port Harcourt Refinery. Also, in March 2019, the former Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru-led the Federal Government delegation to inaugurate the rehabilitation of Port Harcourt refineries. He said that the rehabilitation would be in two phases, adding that both the ENI and the original builders would participate in the process. According to him, it is part of government’s effort to achieve 90 per cent local refining capacity. 2 Likes |

Nothing is ever set in stone. That something works for A doesn’t necessarily means it will work for B. Reading through comment, I see a lot of post like Nigeria is getting bad n bad and Youth should find a way to run out of the country. I begin to ask myself the kind of mentality we are breeding among our Youths. We are not even looking at what we can offer the country anymore rather what we can take from it and run. There are lots of people who have this mentality of just traveling out and are regretting it right now. There’s a lot of potential in this country and no one is going to force open your eyes. No wonder Buhari called us Lazy Youth Anyway, back to NNPC matter, tomorrow is another Wednesday, let’s brace for impact. 10 Likes |

GeeRaoult: It depends on what you want in life. On face value, a PhD in a top 5 institution in the US is much better pick than a job with NNPC. You have more opportunities and you can decide to settle in the US or virtually any other country in the world. It's lifetime opportunity I personally wouldn't advise even an enemy to reject for NNPC offer. On the flip side, I would advise the person to quietly pick an NNPC job if he/she is not interested in academic rigour associated with a PhD program. It takes a whole lot of research and hard work. Family consideration also come into play, eventhough you can also decide to move the family over to the US (so not much of a big issue) But I will believe that anyone who applied for a PhD program and successfully gets a full funded scholarship is interested and up to the task. So for me, it's the PhD program all the waaaaaaaaaay!!! Xfire 11 Likes 1 Share |

xfire:cool, you touched on a little bit of the interest part of my point. Also, If i were to make a case study I wouldn't use NNPC, a better case study would be one of the world's top 5 IOCs here in Nigeria. There are a lot of example case studies of people in these situations that would better enlighten one on such issues |
