Confas 2019 Is Finally Here!!!! by Emempaul(m): 2:27am On Mar 17, 2019
This is officially introducing the CONFAS (CORN FARMING SEASON) 2019 PROJECT to you

A Brief History

3 years ago we were kind of wondering we farmers don't like planting corn yet you hear people shouting there is so much money in corn farming. So we decided to enter into it. Well let's just say that story didn't end well for us

2 years ago, we went back to the drawing board re-strategised and came back to plant the maize again and this time we sold fresh and the result was encouraging

Last year we took our time and experimented on different plant spacing, fertilizer application, time of planting as well as hybrid seeds and marketing

And the results

Outstanding!!! Oh and we sold fresh because that's were the money is.

Since our last disaster some years back with cassava, we had promised not to introduce any new cropping season without testing the market for both the good the bad and the ugly side of the market

Hence, we are proud to say without doubt that there is big money in corn farming selling it fresh
Now to Business
We will be giving the potential farmer the option of choosing between planting the highly improved hybrid seeds or the local Seed

Run down of the cost of cultivating 1 acre(6 plots) of corn

Land lease 10000
1st and 2nd plough 15000
Mild cutting 5000
*Import Hybrid seeds 17000
*** hybrid seeds. 6000
Planting. 6000
Fertilizer + transportation + application
@ 12000 per bag x 3 bags 36000
Spraying + post emergence herbicide 5000

Total cost plus import hybrid seeds 94000
Total cost plus local hybrid seeds 83000
Optional (*** local hybrid). (* imported hybrid)

Now to the Return on Investment
1 acre will accommodate 20,000 stands of corn
Let's give 3000 stands to defects and failure and you are left with 17000

Going by the minimum accepted price for profit
A fresh mature maize sells for a minimum of #8 per cob at farm gate
#8 x 17000 cobs of maize = #136000
#136000 - #88,000 = #48,000 or 35% of your investment after 3 months
Isn't that something or what
How to get started
1. Visit the farm
2. If interested, pay a registration fee. Registration fee covers
Workers, agro service seedry and buyers sourcing.

Registration is

# 5000 (1 - 5acres),
#10,000 (6 - 10 acres)
negotiable for 11 acres and above

3. You have to be present during most, if not all farming activities being
carried out

let me clear things up due to the calls that we have been receiving

1. We are not managing your farm for you but are there to guide you through every single step of the way providing labour for you as at when due, trusted agro service providers contact and the buyers for your matured maize when ready

2. We will do not control the price as what is quoted here is the minimum price for profit you stand to get IF YOU FOLLOW OUR INSTRUCTIONS to the latter and ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL

3. We will not be responsible for your money. You will be responsible to make payments for jobs done for you

4. We don't entertain long distance/ phone call/ whatsapp farmer for this project as every single person taking part in this CONFAS project must be present during each activity being carried out on his/her farm. we only come in as support were u can unavoidably be absent

5. We will not leave you high and dry to hang but like we said earlier, will be with you and direct you on how best to go about the farm thereby giving the chance to also learn while farming

We truely hope that we answered !most of ur questions concerning the project
