Islam breeds poverty and extremism .With exception of Dubai that channeled their oil money into tourism,other countries with sizable muslim population never grows as the religion believes more in slavery and welfare system of government.India and Pakistan were once one country before they divided.Look at where India is today and look at Pakistan

India and Pakistan both have large numbers of desperately poor people.

They also have nuclear weapons.

Basically, they are at the same level.

India dodged a big bullet there! I bet they’ll be thanking their lucky stars they got detached from Pakistan when they did! Look what we’re suffering in Nigeria...specifically, indigenous Christian settlements in the middle-belt like those found in Plateau, Benue and Taraba states! This is why i envy the likes of Ghana who have a minority muslim population that is being managed and prevented from running things and dictating policy direction like you see in Nigeria!

I don’t know how someone as intelligent as Zik (his pan-Nigerian upbringing notwithstanding) didn’t realise the kind of spectacular failure he was setting the Eastern Region up for by agreeing to share the same country with the Northern Region after independence! At least the likes of Awo had a premonition of the dangers that lay ahead and voiced as much!

India really escaped the misfortune. The south and middle belt had an opportunity to escape with the Okar coup because the north would have been permanently expelled from the federation in the event of success. However, Okar failed and was executed for treason. Such a brave middle belt hero.
