Politics in Nigeria has always been perceived as a path for men, perhaps because of the ruggedity required. However, there are seven female politicians who went against the odds, and manage to get themselves a place at the Nigerian Senate.

The upper chamber of the National Assembly comprises 109 Senators elected from different districts across the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
