Good day everyone, I have an important story to share here to everyone to see how humans suffering in hospital, handicap without help from anyone.
It was a sad moment for me during the encounter with a handsome young guy who was 25 years old. He was believed to be from Ghana. Why the mother was from isoko delta State Nigerian. The young guy was brought to the central hospital WARRI with the following reason.
He woke up in the morning and noticed a small rashes from the right leg,,. He scratched several times until the leg become swollen and edematous,, few minutes,, people advice him to make use of different types of herbal medicine but no one was effective, until a man came in the evening, who told him to apply carbad to the leg and tie the entire leg that night, unfortunately, the following day after applying the carbad .The leg become like boilded yam. Every part of it he leg was completely burnt. The father has no money to spend in the hospital. He stayed at home. He was brought to the male surgical ward center hospitals Warri for treatment with out money. The hospital refused to treat him because no money to assess the hospital treatment. People contribute for him,, he finally got admitted... Treatment start immediately. He was placed on broad spectrum antibiotics and aseptic technique was the key for dressing up the wound daily.
Now the parent could not afford to buy the drugs Required. He was dress up only with out regular treatment for days. After few weeks of treatment no good response,, the doctor recommended for the leg to be cut off. Patient never had money to pay for surgery. Everything was just too bad. All the 18 patient could no longer cope with the odour produce by the leg. I was at every point worried about him... I try my best never to stay away from him,, because I new he was going to survive the situation. We plead for pubic to assist in the contribution to assist for the amputation. Lately the hospital agree to help after weeks of debate. He was booked for amputation a week ahead. Which was councel due to unstable electrolytes unbalances. surgery was disqualified by the chief orthopaedics consultant . Finally he was rescheduled and done,, he survived..... Have been on treatment ,,God was very powerful to delivered miller okwakue from the family of premature death.
