The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN who earlier on claimed they were under pressure to congratulate President Buhari, have finally visited and also congratulated the Nigerian President. The CAN team that visited and congratulated President Buhari, were led by the Christian group's President Samson Ayokunle. 

CAN President who denied the group was under pressure to congratulate Buhari, said the rumour was “the work of politicians in cassock”.  He also told State House Correspondents that apart from congratulating the president, they also want to use the opportunity to express its worry over the increasing spate of kidnappings and other security challenges across the country.
