The United Arab Emirates has canceled three months tourist visa for Nigerian passport holders following the arrest of five Nigerians for robbery in Dubai.

According to Africholiday, Nigeria passport holders are not eligible to the three months UAE tourist visa. They are now restricted to 1 months, 96 hours and 48 hours UAE tourist Visa till further notice.

This development comes after 5 Nigerians were arrested in Dubai for robbing a bureau de change (read here).

The Federal Government has condemned the action of five Nigerians arrested for alleged robbery of Dh 2.3 million Dinars in Sharjah area of Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE).

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said this in a statement to NAN by her media aide, Mr Abdur-Rahman Balogun, on Tuesday in Abuja.

The five Nigerians had on Sunday allegedly stormed a money exchange centre in Sharjah and fled with 2.3 million Dinars before they were arrested by the Dubai Police.

The five suspects who were on visitors visas to Dubai include Chimuanya Ozoh, Benjamin Ajah, Kingsley Ngoka, Tochukwu Alisi and Chile Ndunagu.

According to the police, the men barged into the exchange and smashed the glass barrier between the customers and the staff, stole the money in multiple currencies and fled.

I still can’t understand how some people would obtain visas, travel to a foreign country with the sole intention of carrying out armed robbery. It is the height of crass greediness. Las las, we will all suffer for the stupidity of some greedy fews.

wetin she do?..na she thief?..that is the problem of Nigerians.Instead of shaming this thief that have brought this embarrassment on us, some people are busy castigating Abike..becos they are from thesame ethnic group with the thieves..

It is good that she released their names..so that they will be shamed for their stupid and greedy act. We should not condone this rubbish irrespective of ethnicity. Anybody, be it Igbo,yoruba, Hausa, Ijaws etc that does anythings that will brings shame to us as a nation..their names should be published and shamed for their disgraceful act.
