Doug Stanglin USA Today September 9, 2020 A D V E R T I S E M E N T Fidel Castro tells an American journalist that the Cuban economic model isn’t working. The former Cuban president made the jaw-dropping comment to Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic. Goldberg says the ailing Cuban leader’s remarks came almost as an aside over lunch recently in Havana. “The Cuban model doesn’t even work for us anymore,” Castro told Goldberg. Fresh food that lasts from eFoods Direct (Ad) The writer said he was so stunned that he asked his companion at the lunch, Julia Sweig, a leading Latin America scholar at the Council on Foreign Relations, if he had heard Castro correctly. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/09/fidel-castro-concedes-that-the-cuban-economic-model-isnt-working/1 |

Sensationalist journalism. How does - “The Cuban model doesn’t even work for us anymore,” equate "Castro Admits Communist Economics A Failure"? For all we know he could've meant the current Cuban model needs to tighten its Communist policies for it to begin working again. |

that story is said to be false, apparently, there are claims that he was misquoted. He claims to have said" capitalism doesn't work, here's the source http://en.trend.az/regions/world/ocountries/1749147.html "My idea, as the whole world knows, is that the capitalist system no longer works neither for the United States or the rest of the world; it leads to one crisis after another, ever worsening, global in scope, and inescapable," he was quoted as saying by AFP. "How could such a system work for a socialist country like Cuba?" he added. |

Big government has no place in modern society. It simply does not work anymore if infact it ever did. Case in point as per Cuba. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-11291267 |
