As a travel freak, I often ask people why they don’t travel or go on vacation. Some of the replies I get each time is, it’s either they don’t have enough money or the difficulties they experience in getting a visa to travel abroad. Do you know there are over forty countries in the world that you can travel to with your Nigerian passport that doesn’t require a visa? Yes! You heard me right.

All you need to do is if it's visa free country, you just travel and get your passport stamped while if it's a visa on arrival you get your visa when you get to your location.

Tanzania is no longer visa on arrival

Some of the countries in that list have shut theur doors as at today

tourism options for Nigerians without the hassle of visa is quite limited.

gringringringrin ... what do u expect? A good name is better than riches. Nigeria doesn't have a good reputation abroad. Yahoo boys and corrupt leaders have made it difficult for honest Nigerians.

Which country is your guest coming from?

If its Europe, as it was in my case, i got a Police Character Certificate ( PCC ), took it for certification at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then took it also for legalization at the embassy in Abuja and then sent a scanned copy of that PCC and my international passport to my guest and his Nigerian visa was approved.

Are you sure Lesotho is evisa because if you enter Lesotho you already have access to South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and Namibia. And you need to apply for a visa to SA. Well I will make enquiries about that though I have visited Lesotho from SA. A very small country that is like in the outskirt of SA.

Which country is he coming from? He can just walk into any Nigerian embassy in the country and apply for A Nigerian visa, be ready to provide some documents though, also getting a Nigerian visa is hard, you won't believe it until you try. Goodluck

firstly, you seem to be stalking my comments.Secondly A Ghanaian passport allows you visa free or visa on arrival to 64 countries worldwide including advanced Singapore, all the beautiful countries in the Caribbean,Bolivia,Ecuador,South Africa,Philippians,Indonesia,India, beautiful Seychelles,Mauritius and over 30 African countries, among other countries compared to Nigeria's 45 countries and which Nigeria passport does not have, thirdly, our passport is among top ten most powerful and respected passport in Africa whilst yours is among the least respected and least powerful passports.,fourthly these visas are not mearnt for resident and work permits buh purposely for visits, tourism and business meetings so even a British will pass through the same channels that a Syrian will use to acquire work and residence permit in the USA although it's visa free for 90 days for a British passport to the US.And Europe is not the only definition of developed country.Have you heard of the Asian tigers?

Nigeria has the market but if you are ready to learn a new language (French), then you may want to try Abidjan in Cote d'Ivoire bearing in mind that the cost of living is slightly higher than that of Nigeria.

Apply through the embassy. The processing time is faster compared to regular visa. You will need to show

- Your valid passport
- Ticket reservation
- Visa or residency permit of your final destination
- Travel insurance
