Out of the current 14 Justices of the supreme court, 4 are core Igbos, 4 are SS/SW, 1 is a middle-belt christian while another is a christian from Kaura, in Southern Kaduna.

4 are northerners and 3 out of the 4 are not pro-tanko.

Worst case scenario, democracy will win Jihadists 10:4, but based on existing realities, it is 13:1
Hmmm this profiling doesn't help anybody abegi. Justice is blind! It is not a north/muslim versus democracy/south no, it is not. Rather buhari/apc stifling the other arms of govt.

Why did they face crisis in office? Patent and latent corruption! Leave Christianity out of this. By the way, were they good ambassadors of Christ while it all lasted? The answer is obvious!
Thank you jare, once the know they are guilty, the drag religious and ethnic matter into it

Very poor article with silly conclusions.

After failing to win the tribal war they have now turned it to a religious one , even after someone has just inadvertently shown that the Christians are more than the Muslims on the SC bench.

Why are people like this in this country?

That is how you and your Igbo newspapers like Vanguard, Thisday and co pushed Onnoghen into pit. The same song you have been signing since the Bureau de Change oga was kicked out about two months ago by the Boss Muhammadu Buhari, you are still singing the senseless song even after the Bureau de Change ex-CJN has thrown in the towel. Wetin you go gain when EFCC and ICPC finally put Onnoghen into prison? Wetin you go gain? Stop pushing this man called Onnoghen. There is only one Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his name is General Muhammadu Buhari.

Your General that stole the people's votes?that ain't my general. Watch his fall soon.nothing is forever

The only place I agree with you is the "what a country" part where we have folks like you that cannot rise beyond primordial sentiments.

Now addressing some of the unfortunate things you said, from my understanding the NJC can not have more than 2 sitting SC justices at a time (in this case Onnoghen and Tanko). For this case none of them was involved as the dishonourable Onnoghen was suspended and Tanko did what Onnoghen was suppose to do by stepping aside and letting mostly his retired senior colleagues mull the petitions.

From the outside it does seem that most of the NJC might be majority Northern and probably majority muslim. However this did not stop them from reccomending when due Onnoghen to be CJN and the fact we now have a Christian/Southern tilted SC it is because these same "jihadists" reccommended every single SC justice you see on that bench. So are you able to see the stupidity of bringing religion and even ethnicity into this?

Now dealing with the Yaya Bello situation, he will fail unless he has any valid petition or court case against his state judge suspending him. Over and over again it has been shown that the Abia situation and Tanko's are not similar as a valid order suspending Onnoghen was shown to Tanko before he agreed to come in an "acting" capacity. Tanko said this and even the NJC recognised the superiority of the constitutionally recognised CCT when it comes to declaring assets by failing to make any prouncement on the trial.

But you knew all of this before, you and your likes just wanted me to repeat things you know but will never accept due to primordial sentiments you don't even attempt to overcome.

The have indirectly given every executive leader right to appoint or sack any judge at its discretion...
U can only be touched (removed) if u have skeletons in your closet. Without the asset declaration saga how will the fg have removed cjn? Right or wrong, he brought it on himself. Some say the whole thing is politically motivated. There is the hidden allegation that the cjn is doing the bidding of the opposition. Hence the plot to remove him.

I would love Buhari not to accept his resignation, but allow Onnoghen to defend himself in court, this will allow him clear his name, while his resignation might mean that the charges against him will be dropped, in this case he won't av the opportunity to clear his name.
It would av been very nice and honorable if Onnoghen had resigned when the whole matter began, but he allowed some ethnic bigots and political parties to push him to his doom, those people can't help him now
Re: Onnoghen's Exit Splits Supreme Court. by Akiika: 3:40pm On Apr 08, 2019
Let's go back to the crux of the matter. Did Onnoghen maintain undeclared accounts with questionable amounts of money, contravening the ICPC code of conduct for civil servants? All the religious coloration you guys are ascribing to it is nonsense. He broke the law and he is facing the music.

u see now it's only d cjn dats head of njc from supreme court justices...d cjn appoints about 19 members of d njc while those like president of court of appeal are members by virtue of their position...which ever way u luk at dis issue politics did more damage to it Dan necessary...just like how salami was ridiculed as president of court appeal during goodluck regime so also onnoghen has been ridiculed...let posterity be the judge anyway....i wont say much to it...
