The inauguration of the new and pioneer Akwa Ibom State University Alumni Association held today, Wednesday, 10th April, 2019 at the main campus of the University. The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by the Chairman, Mr. Sunday Okpo who thanked the University management who deemed it fit to have an alumni at this level of the institution as compared to other state owned institutions across the country.

This was then followed by presentation of the newly elected excos by the Electoral Board Chairman for oath taking, swearing in and presentation of certificate of office. The pioneer President, Mr. John Bassey in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to God and to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eno James Ibanga on his developmental strides towards uplifting the brand known as Akwa Ibom State University.
