Would you believe if I inform you that INEC is yet to pay the Ad-staff for the last Elections?
On the 23rd of February and 9th of March 2019 INEC conducted Elections for presidential seat, Senate and National Assembly then Governorship and house of Assembly respectively. As usual in Nigeria such elections are conducted with the the help of Ad-hoc staff which officially involves NYSC corps members, ex-NYSC corps members and others who act the major part of the election, these set of people are those who go out to polling units to conduct and oversee the voting process taking the risk involved, many Ad-hoc staff lost their lives during the process, Many Corps members popularly called coppers lost their lives during the process in the name of obeying the clarion call of their fatherland.
But to my surprise, despite the the token allowance attached to the election process duty saddled upon intrested corps members and other, for more than a month of the Elections many states has not yet collect the allowance despite INEC collected sum amount of N234.5 Billions to finance the elections which I strongly believe all the allowances are inclusive of the outrageous amount collected for the elections.
Nigerians home and Abroad should please arise for the Nigerian youths who risked their lives for the Nation during the last Election.
