Xiamen University is offering fully funded scholarships to prospective international students who wish to study either undergraduate, master or PhD program. The scholarship will be awarded to 24 applicants (including 8 for doctoral candidates, 11 for master’s candidates and 5 for undergraduate candidates). Applicants can choose to study in Chinese or English language in any programme offered at the university.

Xiamen University (XMU) located in Xiamen, Fujian province, is the first university in China founded by overseas Chinese. Established by Tan Kah Kee in 1921, the university was originally known as Amoy University. The university is one of many comprehensive universities directly administered by the Chinese Ministry of Education. According to University Undergraduates Teaching Assessment and Chinese Universities Evaluation Standings, the university is ranked 11th in China and has maintained a top-20 ranking in China. In addition, the School of Management is accredited by EQUIS and the Association of MBAs.The University has been ranked top 10 in China and top 100 in worldwide institutions by Nature Index.

Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2. Educational background and age limits (as of September 1, 2019):
(1) Bachelor’s degree programs: hold a high school diploma or above and be under the age of 25;
(2) Master's degree programs: hold a bachelor's degree or above and be under the age of 40;
(3) Doctoral degree programs: hold a master's degree or above and be under the age of 45.

Duration of Scholarships
1. Bachelor’s degree programs: 4 or 5 years;

2. Master’s degree programs: 2 or 3 years;

3. Doctoral degree programs: 4 years.

Note: Scholarships recipients’ academic performance will be assessed each year and only those achieving the required standard will have their scholarship renewed for the following year.

The Scholarships Application Form should be completed in Chinese or English and signed by the applicant.

Note:
(1) Applicants are expected to submit a complete set of application materials and will be held responsible for the authenticity of their documents. Incomplete or forged application materials will be rejected.

(2) Applicants are expected to keep their phones on, check their email and online application account regularly as XMU's Admissions Office will contact them when necessary.

Selection and Notification
A comprehensive review will be conducted on applicant’s academic record, language proficiency, overall merits, research achievements and their prospective supervisor’s comments. The shortlisted candidates will be submitted to the university authorities for final approval.

The final results will be published Here in mid-July. Scholarships awardees will be notified via email. Admission Notices and Visa Application Forms for Study (JW202) will be sent out afterwards.
