FG Completed the Repair Works on Abuja-Kaduna Highway in Readiness for Abuja Airport Closure in a record time.

It took only 50 days for the existing 165km dual carriage that was characterised with several failed sections, portholes and multiple cracks was sorted out with N1.1bn just like that.

The Lagos–Ibadan Expressway is a 127.6 km long dual expressway .This expressway is the busiest inter-state route in Nigeria. The highway was commissioned in 1978 by Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo.

For many years no fund was earmarked for maintenance of this road. Olusegun Obasanjo never invested a dime there from 1999-2007, Yaradua came skeletal repair was noticed in his three years. In 2008 no fund was earmarked for this highway

The reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway was flagged off on July 2013 by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at a whopping cost of N167bn which is 1.3bn/Km as against a contract for the 1,028km Lagos-Abidjan road project was estimated to cost between N167bn and N240bn by the Economic Community of West African Countries. The six-lane project is expected to connect five major cities in the region namely Lagos, Nigeria; Cotonou, Benin Republic; Lome, Togo; Accra, Ghana and Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire.

The Jonathan administration spent 22 months and the Buhari administration is on the 47th month also and the road completed so far is at 48% max.

Imprudently, government is incurring a huge cost on variations because cost of materials keep going up.

They don't care about the poor man's plight because they fly most time. They hurriedly repaired the road they will ply when the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport was shut down for repairs. They do not want to die or end up being kidnapped.

One thing I have for the youths who are their vuvuzela posterity will judge you all.

OP needs to know that Abuja-Kaduna-Kano express way is undergoing another round of total reconstruction as we speak. The shocker is while those in the south are financed with Islamic SUKUK bond, the projects in the north are financed by FG

Many anti PMB people in this thread rejoiced and celebrated when Saraki slashed the budgeted funds for Lagos Ibadan expressway.

For 16 years, PDP budgeted and embezzled the funds for Lagos Ibadan Express and still didn't complete the project.

This is when hatred and bigotry denied people their basic common sense, logic and sense of patriotism.

You have never sounded like someone that attended a proper school to me.None of your posts has ever made sense.
So you are now comparing repair of portions of the Abuja Kaduna road to almost total reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway?
You even went further to start comparing the costs. How can anyone assume you are truly educated? Shameful.
