The leadership of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) frowns sternly at the incessant strike actions especially in the educational sector, it is a deliberate delay of destiny, strike actions have never birthed any progress but rather causes delay.

Issues are better settled or solved on negotiation tables, it has been proven that whatever dialogue can't settle, no degree of violence would settle it.

On this note, we appeal to Lagos State government to call the Non Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Lagos State polytechnic chapter to a round table discussion and iron issues out so that students can go back to class. The ASUP National just called off her strike few months back and it will be an act of wickedness for any union within the academia to embark on strike, whatsoever the case maybe, the leadership and management of institutions should understand that only the students suffers the outcome of strike actions.

It is so appalling that even the government both at federal and state level now attach age brackets to employments not minding the delay caused by them and unions, most students can no longer meet up with NYSC exercise as a result of same strike actions,it is always painful seeing both government and union finally reaching a consensus through dialogue and negotiations after embarking on strike which will definitely have adverse effects on students.

The leadership of NAPS Senate appreciate the effort of the Rector of the institution (Laspotech) Prof. Sogunro in maintaining peace and orderliness despite the pressure on ground, we call on Lagos State government to support the management and students of Laspotech by calling off the strike with immediate alacrity so that activities can fully resume back on campus, Prof. Sogunro is known for uninterrupted academic calendar.

Signed,
Comr. Adekanbi Sunday
Senate President, NAPS.
