Ex-Arsenal Coach, Arsene Wenger, who has been out of management since he quit as Arsenal manager a year ago, is set for a return to football in France.He has had offers to return, including an audacious attempt by Fulham before they appointed Claudio Ranieri.Now Olympique Lyon want him to take over as general manager at the club.

Current coach Bruno Genesio has already said he will leave at the end of the season.Lyon want Wenger to come in as a general manager and have a significant say in the appointment of a new first team coach and monitor the recruitment at the club.Former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is already at Lyon but he has a strictly part-time advisory role.

Wenger is bound to give any offer serious thought. He could well welcome the challenge to end Paris Saint-Germain's dominance of the domestic game in France - but PSG are themselves keen to offer Wenger a key role.They played Rennes in the French Cup final on Saturday night and are already Ligue 1 champions.

However, manager Thomas Tuchel is under pressure after persistent failure in the Champions League.This season they squandered a first leg win at Manchester United in the last 16 and went out in dramatic fashion in the reverse fixture to a controversial penalty, but that may not be enough to save Tuchel his job.

Wenger has a close working relationship with the Qatari owners of PSG and is in Doha this week to work for the media outlet beIN. Again, the role of general manager would be on the agenda should Tuchel leave.
