Walk4PH is a walkathon aimed at raising awareness on pulmonary hypertension, a rare chronic disease that affects the lungs and heart. Pulmonary hypertension is a complex and often misunderstood disease. It is high blood pressure in the lungs and it is different from the normal hypertension.

This disease has no known cure, it can only be treated to manage symptoms and reduce progression. This disease exist in Nigeria, but the rarity and obscurity of it in Nigeria, significantly reduces the survival chances of patients due to delay of accurate diagnosis and lack of proper treatment.

Only proper awareness can bring this unknown and rare illness to light in Nigeria and hereby giving patients and health practitioner access to the right information, diagnosis and treatment for this life threatening disease.

Walk4ph is not centered only on the walk, but it is also meant to bring people together to bond and have fun partaking in other interesting activities in the venue. There will also be health tests such as blood pressure checks and heart and lungs healthy lifestyle tips for participants.
