The Shell On Challenge is the latest social media fad taking over the internet and it involves teens eating foods with the packaging still on.

Teens on SnapChat have been spotted in many videos eating wrapped foods ranging from sweets, cookies, banana, whole eggs and orange peel.

In most cases things like fruit skins are not usually dangerous to consume, particularly banana skins and orange peel.

The bigger issue is consuming plastics as it can be harder for your body to digest and can potentially have long-term effects on your body.

Doctors are warning people that eating plastic is not healthy.
