Abike Dabiri's duties covers affairs of all Nigerians in diaspora and the diplomacy between us and the host countries. The issue of crime is abnormal to diplomacy and relations building. We all are ambassadors for our country when we step out and travel to foreign lands, Abike Dabiri is the single voice for ambassadorial representation between the President of Nigeria directly with all Nigerians abroad. Therefore crime and activities that will break down good relationships between our President and other countries are viewed as aberration and lower service on the duty list.

She does not owe criminals abroad any representation. In cases where innocence can be upheld she can intervene to slow down the prosecution so the innocence of the accused can be proven.

When elements of guilt and proofs exist she will be dragging the Presidency in the mud if she were to intervene. Also, her response must be driven by official record, and not news briefings. She cannot respond to a situation involving a Nigerian and reported on CNN or Wall Street Journal or New York Times for instance, when an official communication has not been received from government official regarding issue with the Nigerian.

Next I want to expose the short cut to crime and how Nigerians beat the system.

Certain elements are already crime-inclined even beforw they left Nigeria to go abroad. In foreign country like US and where liberty to do anything you want under protection of law is guaranteed, these elements grow wings and fly into crime. Most know that citizens have broad immunity against deportation so they use citizenahip to exploit thw system. They dont mind going to jail or even prison so long they are not deported. So this is why such elements go into crime nonchallantly and willing to risk the punishment for material comfort.

After they are caught they have another route for beating the syatem and getting off hook.

By the Civil Rights Act of 1964, US laws prohibit discimination of juatice based on religious or race or color or origin of an individual. The loose interpretation of this is under certain circumstances a law enforcement officer is prohibited from interrogating to find out your background or religion or sexual oriwntation and so on.... In US laws, the word "prohibited" is sacrosanct. Anywhere a statute says you are not allowed to do, or cannot do, or must not do, or shall not do....there exists a loophole to get around it, but when it says "prohibited".... don't try it, you will loose.

So the criminal elements that left Nigeria to become citizens in US learn this fast. When arrested they bait the naive law enforcement officer to take interest in their background and start probing them for their origin and why they are in US. When they are presented in court they bait the D.A. (District Attorney) and his team of prosecutors to slip infront of the Judge and violate their civil rights protection.
An erring D.A. is their "get out of jail free" card.

The US legal system has started working qith Dept of Homeland Security under which is Border Patrol. When a criminal is brought to court they have to determine their citizenship status. Its a yes or no. If its no, the treatment follows a different path than those who are citizens.

Nigerians are arrested in US everyday for one crime or the other, trust me, and they dont make news. So when you hear that Nigerians are arrested in US for fraud of any kind, typically these are US citizens and they have succeeded in baiting a naive police or the DA to interrogate their origin. News media have court reporters in almost every county court in US. In fact some court employees also act as reporters for extra commission on the side and they stay vlose by the DA to get info to leak out.
