Schooling in Nigeria is not for the weak. Lecture schedules coming in so fast that you probably might have not time to really think. Also, many lecturers are usually devils wearing prada (well maybe not prada though).



Adding one more responsibility to this already choked up schedule can take a negative tow on academic matters and outcomes.


2. Immaturity

Making a choice such as being in a relationship is something that should be carefully done. Sometimes, especially when young, we are more likely to make irrational choices either based on emotions or myopic views, thus falling into a wrong relationship.



Also, most people get into a relationship due to peer pressure and should not be. Immaturity most times pushes people to enter into wrong relationships at wrong times as well.



Hence, as a university student it is easy to fall prey to this kind of irrationality leading to a wrong decision.


3. Life Happens

Similar to the above reason, many times we make plans that we really have no control over and then things happen that distort those plans.



For example, one can fall in love in school and then after school one or both of the partners gets to travel or have new plans that change the whole picture. Walking out of this kind of relationship can be really crushing on either of the two parties.


4. You Are Likely Broke

Ok, so on a lighter but not so light note really. There is a strong tendency that you are still dependent on a parent or sibling as a university student.



This can mean you don’t have enough to cater for two people periodically. Relationships always demand more than just your time, sometimes your money. This might not be a great time to get into this kind of commitment.


5. You Can Get Pregnant Or Impregnate Someone’s Daughter

There is a saying that “konji na bastard”. Learning to manage sexual urges can take quite some time and expertise and the university setting may not be helpful in doing this.



Some wrong choices may be made which can ruin future aspirations, one of them is having a baby while in school.
