All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 2:50pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
The trend now adays is to focus all the attention on the women. When it comes to sexual intimacy, all we hear is how to satisfy the woman. In school, its the girls that lecturers lavish attention on. In the office, the secretary is usually everyone's wife. If a man misbehave, nobody'll talk, but if a woman misbehave, everybody'll shout [eg patricia Etteh]. In the movie and music industry, all Attention is on the women [Omotola, lady gaga, et al]. Male artistes perform well dressed. Female artistes perform scantily dressed. Why is this so? I'm not a male chauvinist and neither do i habor any I'll feeling towards women. I just feel they are OVER DOING everything and need to apply some moderation ![]() ![]() |

Those women just give to the men what they expect from them. would you buy her records or watch her movies if she don't shake her boobs and nyash half naked? and by the way, men don't put all their attention on women, specially when it comes to sexual intimacy. |

Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 4:37pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
mamaken:any artiste who performs scantily dressed is slowly killing his/her own career. Asa, jojo, celine dion, don't hav 2 dress badly 4 their album to sell. If your music is good and entertaining, it'll sell. you don't have 2 dress silly. If you see a movie or song that flaunts nudity, then it means the producers are bereft of creative ideas. Nudity = uninspiring, monotonous, corruption, etc. Now i wouldn't want to buy such tapes. They're nauseating. I prefer "i believe i can fly" to "sex olympics" ![]() |

What are you talking about what about male R&B singers removing their shirts during concerts? What about people like D'banj, Usher, Trey Songz, and Chris Brown? I'm sure you've seen D'banj at concerts without a shirt on, so what do you call that? Do they not go shirtless on stage? And what do you mean that a woman will do something wrong and no one says a thing? What about when a man sleeps with 20 girls and people practically give him a standing ovation then if a woman does it then she's pelted with insults huh? What about those? You making it seem like the world is out to get you as a man. Smmfh!!! |

@ inked nerd . . . Dbanj and chris brown are not my type. . . I hate em. As for guys who are serial bleepers, they get condemed too like that alhaji in niger state with over 90 wives. I'm not saying men don't misbehave. They do but WOMEN OWN ARE TOO MUCH. ![]() |

Re: All Attention On Women by InkedNerd(f): 6:24pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
oweniwe: I didn't ask you if you liked them. I was naming a few people just as you did. When a woman doesn't show enough skin then she's boring, then she shows more skin now she too much? Oh please ::rolls eyes:: Suppose all these famous female singer decided to wear burkas while they performed, would you still be sitting here complaining? Look, as an advertising student, I am well aware that s.ex sells. If you don't like what you see then don't buy the music and don't watch them on tv. It mean c'mon we're talking about a multimillion dollar industry here. It all about marketing. |
Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 7:55pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
But ophra whinfrey (not sure of the correct spelling) doesn't dress scantily. Sex may sell, but LOVE SELLS MORE. Anyway, i started the thread with the bedroom in mind. All we hear today is "how to make your woman shout "AGBAKO"!! in bed. Its like women want men to become like specially programmed piston ring not minding the consequences involved |
Re: All Attention On Women by InkedNerd(f): 8:10pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
oweniwe: I don't know why your using Oprah Winfrey as an example since you started the thread by using examples that pertained the the music and movie industry. And no, love does not sell more. It sell just not more than s.ex. Your arguement is a bit one sided here. You make it sound as though society bends over backwords for women while men are left to fend for themselves. We live in a society that frowns up female sexuality and glorifies male sexuality so how does you post justify anything that you've stated? |
Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 8:40pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
Inked_Nerd:Gbam! That's my point. I've thought it and i think age may be the reason why. . . I'll soon hit 21. Almost Everything in the age bracket is turned at the girls but in the 30s and 40s, the attention goes to the men. I'm not jealous about that coz i know my time will come but i'm just not cool with the way the sissies use uncreative short cuts to get what they want. If women use their brains to soar through sky, I'll marvel, but wen de cheat, i get "bad blood". I hate cheating ![]() |
Re: All Attention On Women by InkedNerd(f): 8:45pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
oweniwe: Ok, that was terrible all that rambling to make this point. Seems liek you have a long way to go if you truly believe that then. Your age has nothing to do with it. I'm 21 yet you don't hear me saying stuff like that. I don't go around starting threads about unjust society is towards women. Stop making is seem like the world is picking on you as a man because that is not the case, and by the way, you failed to answer my question about the women dressed in burkas. Did you not see it or have you just chose not to answer? |
Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 10:13pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
I saw it, but didn't know the meaning of burkers so i over looked it. Anyway, I'll google it up |
Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 10:44pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
http://noburka..com/ the cloth makes a woman look like a demon. some women wear burkas in abeokuta where i grew up. But i think the practise is dying. One thing i however observed is that nobody is forcing the women to wear burkas. Just like the pakistani female lawyer in the link, the women choose to wear it coz they feel more secure in it. When they're told to stop wearing it, they cry out. I don't understand those women at all. I just wonder- what's the philosophy or covering ones's self with black cloth from head to toe all one's life when one is not mourning? I don't just understand. If you know inked, pls enlighten me. I'm willing to learn ![]() ![]() |
Re: All Attention On Women by Nobody: 11:34pm On Sep 21, 2010 |
Inked_Nerd: I beg to differ. Aside from other obvious facts supporting my claim, ever asked yourself why female pornstars are more famous than their fellow males? (My claims hold valid for western society only) |
Re: All Attention On Women by InkedNerd(f): 12:15am On Sep 22, 2010 |
2buff: Yes the may be famous within the sex industry but the general consensus towards female sexuality is still frowned upon. The average Western woman does not act or behave like a p.orn star. oweniwe: You still have not answered my question. I didn't ask you what the philosophical meaning was for the wearing of the burka. And no, not all women wear burkas by choice. Would you or would not you not still pay attention to these female singers if they were wearing burkas? |
Re: All Attention On Women by oweniwe(m): 11:50am On Sep 22, 2010 |
A good artiste must be open, inspiring, and melancholic or sanguine. I can't buy what i can't see, can't buy something that is shrouded in secrecy or what does.nt inspire me. Something that one is doing and one cannot come out in the open and say one is doing is not for one to engage in. An album with every one dressed in burka would be dammned boring. I can't buy what i did not see. ![]() |

Re: All Attention On Women by InkedNerd(f): 7:19pm On Sep 22, 2010 |
oweniwe: Open eh? And who's to say they aren't being open by choosing to wear a burka? Besides, who told you those scantily clad female singers weren't being open? Your going from one thing to another here. Wearing a burka does not mean that there is some sort of secrecy. You've just proved that you would prefer to see someone who was showing skin than someone who wasn't. If it truely had nothing with the way the person was dressed and was based purly on talent then why should it matter whether they are fully covered or not? You say you can't buy what you can't see, must you see their face to enjoy the music? Groups like Daft Punk and Gorillaz are faceless yet people still buy their music and flock to their concerts. So what is it that your trying to get at with your original post? |
