Good day everyone, even as things are difficult in the country and including poor healthcare services in Nigeria, one of the newest one is the sale of the National Population Commission's Birth Certificate. The certificate is presumed to be used as follows: To secure my child’s identity, nationality and name For easy access to health care and good education To help in national planning To obtain a job in the public sector The question I have been asking is: i) If the money is for Government why is receipt not issued to that effect? ii) Why i the disparity in price where people pay between N 500; N 1,000 and Even N 2, 000. Out of concern and curiosity I launched an inquiry got an information that the NPC birth certificate is FREE. It may interest you to know that my wife was persuaded to pay N 1,000 to obtain the certificate at a Government Hospital. Hum.... Where are we going to? What is all this drive for money about? Can systems be put in place to check all this loopholes? Can Nigerians make effort for better attitude and stop giving the this great country a bad name? I want to beg the National Population Commission and Federal Ministry of Health helpless Nigerians from the hands of this kind of people who are bent on milking other Nigerians. Thank you. |

A woman working in that organization once asked me to pay 6,500 for everything. She explained that I have to go to high court to obtain affidavit costing 2,500 and the commission will collect 4,000. Thank God I did not pay a dime 1 Like |
