I develop Android apps and I just felt like, let me push this app to the general public and it just seems like I'm missing something.

The development was by far the easiest part, you see the part where you start marketing your app, its 3x more complex than the development of the app itself.

3 good weeks, 4 downloads, nice figures... I've been lazy tho but at least, my app ain't that bad, and yes, I run Facebook ads and that's what I got from it, 4 downloads, maybe my budget wasn't big enough but I think 3k, asin three thousand naira should give me more than 4 downloads.

Now I'm asking this question, how do you'll advertise a new app with low budget and getting maximum results?

With patience and time your app will be downloaded. Start by paying bloggers you know some token to help publish your app or even Twitter hype. Don't let anyone deceive you that 1k can give you 1 billion downloads that are not even real.

Most importantly, engage the service of a good graphics person to help design eye catchy designs that will speak volume of your brand/app.

Why not tell ppl here the name of ur app,some may download it and collectively u may get more than what facebook gave u. Omo is this what i was getting into?

use Google ads (app installs) and a good audience targeting , with $10 (3600) you could get up to 100 downloads

Development of the App is not tasky like getting user engagements.
However a newly develop App is just like finishing NYSC which you just begin a journey of competing with millions of job seekers (billions of Apps ) to get discovered.
Am not an advocate of fb ads but one thing is to sponsor ad, another thing is to know the right Audience to target.
ie you have to target users who are interested in what your App does and the country that will get them engage.
That's not even the case because to me fb ads don't convert like Play Store app Marketing.
But the best and the most recommended Strategy to get astonishing users download organically is App Store optimization kindly lay your hands on YouTube videos to get your way around it, sites like Appannie give you insight on precise keywords users are searching for, search volume and suggestion on the best keywords.

However ensure your App solve a particular problem. Because no matter the ASO you do or the sponsor ad you spend money on, a single bad review is enough to drop your app ranking If your app is useless

are u talkng from experience or just criticzng? The dude sounds experienced , how many noobs buy advertisng to promote their apps? As for those making millions,i dont know. It doesnt say anything about d likelihood of succeeding as a new entrant esp from naija. Others are making millions on youtube too.

I am just curious because I also publish my app and so far it's just too depressing to think about it.

Lol No be small wahala o, It took me some time to figure it out too. At the end of it all, I didn't spend shi shi and we got 700k download.
