At Long Last Buhari Backs Call For True Federalism? by Stephenmgj3e(m): 1:09pm On May 11, 2019
At long last President Muhammadu Buhari, who had adopted lackluster attitude towards true Federalism through restructuring of the country had cued into it. He has become one of the Champions for the demand for true Federalism to achieve a lasting peace in the country.

The President may have been encourage to sing a different song with the high level of insecurity in different parts of the country. From Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna, Benue, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Borno to Gombe, the story is the story: Insecurity. Take for instance, the north eastern states of Yobe and Borno, the Islamic Fundamentalists, BokoHaram, has been desperately fighting in the last 10 years with government forces and Multi-national Joint Task Force, MNJTF, to create an Islamic state in the region while Bandits have gradually taken over Zamfara state in the north west geo-political region and spreading their tentacles to Katsina, the President home state, Kaduna, and Nasarawa states.

The Katsina state born Nigerian President who could not hide his feelings at an award ceremony organised by the governors of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in his honour in Abuja, said ”true Federalism is necessary at this juncture of the nation’s political and democratic revolution”. He noted that ”some few privileged individuals and groups in the society are exploiting the and manipulating the ethnic and religious front-lines for seeking personal and partisan advantage ”.

you and op don't have sense.
true federalism and restructuring are not the same thing.

Nigeria are suppose to practice true federalism according to Nigeria constitution, but for the past 16yrs, pdp fails to practice true federalism according to constitution.
no autonomy to states and LG and no autonomy to judiciary and to National and State assembly under pdp.

but today, buhari as a true democrat and federalist, has granted autonomy to all levels of govt and all arms of govt.

buhari is a goal from onset.

true federalism is better than restructuring,
when you practice true federalism, no need for restructuring.
true federalism is when every levels of govt and every arms of govt take full responsibility.

buhari even gave his appointee and agencies full responsibilities
for example, nnpc, CBN, FIRS and custom has full responsibility.

idiotic pigs think restructuring is by balkanising the country landmass.

You people are as slippery an eel and as evasive as the Artful Dodger!

So true federalism in your books means we should still have big government controlled by Abuja, with the feeding-bottle/quasi-unitary system still in place abi!?

Nice try!

Or you don't know that NO PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA CAN RESTRUCTURE THIS NATION?

It is NOT in his powers....

Stop being a classic olodo...

And besides what is Restructuring in its active sense

hahahahahahahahahaha,
where did you see unitary system?
how can unitary system has autonomy to all levels and arms of govts,
you were blinded by pdp misrule, hence you cant differentiate btw true federalism and quasi unitary system.

again, resource control is also different from true federalism.

this topic is about buhari operating true federalism.

True federalism is only achievable through restructuring. So Buhari saying he supports true federalism without supporting restructuring is as deceptive as someone who says they support APC but vote PDP
