The Dutch professional tennis player, Kiki Bertens defeated Romanian Simona Halep 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday to win her biggest career women's title at the 2019 Madrid Open, in a thrilling encounter which lasted One hour Twenty-Seven minutes.




A victory for the third-ranked Simona Halep, would have seen her regained the world number one next Monday, displacing Japan's Naomi Osaka at the top.



Kiki Bertens, who is the first woman to win the Madrid singles Open without dropping a set. She would be ranked number four on Monday and would be the Highest-ranked Dutch woman in history. Bertens will receive 1,000 rating points and € 1,202,520 prize money.
