send mail, the reply to mails. Did my whole process without any communication except for the mail I sent the same day they verified my result and they even replied the mail.

Ok thanks. Will do that. How long did it take from your application to the day they sent to WES?

Since you studied computer science, have you considered the British Computer Society certification? Some people have confirmed that this has been positively evaluated as 2 or more degrees. Here's the WhatsApp link that was posted here a while ago, you should join and find out more about this option. https:///Fv1vy6tD7ng07oPlVtqh4K

Congrats to those have gotten PPR and aced IELTS in this part.

Good morning house,we may have friends /colleagues who have issues with WAEC verification ;this is a simple way to do it : Ask the person to buy a WAEC scratch card, then go on WAEC website to view his result. He should then save his result in PDF format and scan to WES via Hellofax (same way certificates are sent).Importantly,he should download the WAEC verification form on his profile (via WES website) and fill same by inputting the scratch card pin/details on the form .WES will use that to verify and his WAEC will be acknowledged within few days. He needs not to pay a dime to anyone. I hope this will be helpful to someone.

Please are you sure this is helpful?

Someone forwarded a case to me last night, her waec was rejected because it wasn't sent from waec. Her documents got to wes in March and was accepted. After review, she was asked to go to the proper bodies to send the documents.

Please let's be careful in dishing out advise so people don't waste time and money.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot abeg.

Are you indicating WAEC doesn't need to send a copy? Or u trying to advise on the verification

I thought about this too, but you send your scratch card for verification alongside WAEC confirmation of result, so no need to send them independently.

unless he means something else.

wink

That's only for documentation purposes.

In practice, according to law, 40hrs per week is still the standard no of hours (see this)

Stencil:
Actually in Canada and according to IRCC 30 hours per week is full time and less than that is part time. Isn't that awesome? No more 9-5.

It seems self-evident.

You have already stated that it doesn't require licensure, so the answer should be "no".

jadief:
My people ,please I need clarifications here.
We recently got the SINP nomination, my spouse's Noc is 2255 which does not require liscensure. Now filling the application, I got to a point where I was asked " does ur intended occupation require professional certificate or licensure". Please what do I answer to this having in mind that his occupation was stated as not requiring licensure? Will he require professional certificate from APEGS before submission or nomination? NOC 2255 is technical occupations in geomatics and meteorology. Thanks all

I also wrote in the uk in December and had 6.5 in writing & 7.5 in speaking. If you're sure you met the required word limit in your essays and you structured your essays well, then please consider EOR.
In my case, I called the test center and they emailed the EOR form to me. I filled it (requested remarking for writing & speaking to increase chances of getting my money back) and scanned it back to then, then posted the result certificate back to them. They called me as soon as they received it and I paid the EOR fee of £70 over the phone.
About two weeks later, I was sent an email that EOR was successful (writing changed to 7, speaking to 8.5).
I hope this is useful for you. Don't give up, it will all end well!

I’m almost in tears

Please how do you request for a remark ? (I wrote my exam in the uk )

Raconteur14:
It's been a long while I have been here. Decided to share my PPR story even though I didn't get it through express entry.

May 2017- Wrote IELTS for the first time and passed. (Just expired last week).

July 2017 - Got the result of my ECA assessment from WES.

July 2017 - Dived into the pool with a total score of 466.

August 2 2017 - Got an ITA as lowest CRS was 441.

August 9 2017- CRS was 433.

After due consultation on this forum, I realised I had wrongly put a certification that I had not assessed with my ECA. I was advised to remove the certification and revert to my 433 scores since it would be sufficient to get an ITA since the last draw on August 9 was 433.

August 23 2017- CRS was 434

September 6 2017- CRS was 435

September 14 2017- Celebrated my birthday and lost 6 points. My CRS dropped to 427

September 20 2017 - CRS was 433.

The rest as they say is history. CRS never dropped again to levels achieved in 2017.

I was sad, cursed my luck and was unhappy. I continued with my masters program in Unilag, hoping to finish by the end of 2018 so that I could get the extra 40 marks for masters. As I type this, while I am done with my course work, I'm yet to defend my project, talk less of results or certificate.

January 2019 - I got married to my girlfriend who was a PR.

January 2019 - I got a new job.

February 27 2019 - Submitted my sponsorship application (Average time of processing is one year)

March 2019- I did my biometrics.

May 16 2019- I got an e-mail that I was eligible for pre-arrival services.

May 16 2019- I got another e-mail to go and do my medicals. I was so excited about this that I was bubbling up and down. People usually do medicals 6 months or more after the application has been submitted.

May 16 2019- I got yet another e-mail from Accra Immigration notifying me that my Visa was ready. So is my COPR. I had just gotten the PPR email. I was behind myself with so much joy and I still can't believe it. But God did it.

I share this to encourage someone. Be patient, keep at it and God would bring your own testimony for you.

I couldn't keep up with the thread from Part 3 because my situation wasn't changing. I am pretty sure that people we started together then are well settled in Canada now. But I am just so glad that God showed up for me this way. It's only him!

DECISION TO TRAVEL

The decision to travel was made after a close friend of mine told me he was moving to Canada with his family in July 2016. Previously, I was not keen on leaving Nigeria mainly because of the perceived cost of such a decision and the choice not to take any desperate steps to leave Nigeria illegally. When my very close family friend left, I reconsidered my position and decided to make plans to move to Canada with my wife and son.

FIRST IELTS
My first ielts was written in September 2016 and my score was LRSW 6.5,7,7,8. I was not informed about maximizing my scores back then hence I took no steps in that direction. My spouse also wrote the test in early 2017 and her scores were ok...I can’t remember the exact scores now.

ECA
I started processing my unilag transcript in October 2016 and went through the usual delays at unilag. As at that time, I had just finished my Master’s degree in the school so I had to wait a few more weeks to send my Master’s degree request to CES, the evaluation body I used. It took about 6 months before i finally got my evaluation report. In between, my wife evaluated her 2 post secondary certificates with WES and obtained her evaluation report also.

ENTERING THE POOL
We finally entered the pool in July 2017 and were hoping for a miracle. While waiting, my spouse was reading through some information about the Canadian language benchmark equivalent of our ielts scores and we wrongly interpreted that it was these CLB equivalent that needs to be imputed as our English scores in our Express entry profile. When we imputed our CLB equivalent, our scores jumped to 442 and we got ITA with the following draw in 0ctober 2017.

REFUSAL LETTER
We were ignorantly excited and gathered all the necessary documents, submitted our application ,went for the medical exams and paid the necessary fees in December 2017. We ignorantly started making plans for our transition early 2018. The bubble burst happened in Jan 2018 when our application was refused!
This was the turning point for us, the moment of truth. When we discovered our error of ignorance, we made adjustments and I was more determined to make this Canadian dream happen with help from above.
JUMPING THE IELTS HURDLE
I think it was at this point that I discovered this thread and learnt about the need to max my ielts scores. I was approaching my 35th birthday in June and knew I had to make this happen before my next birthday in 2018.
So I booked for my 2nd ielts in February and wrote it in March 2018. The scores released early April was LRSW 9,7,8,6.5. I was disappointed that my writing scores dropped significantly but I knew there was no room for pity party as June was coming! That same day that I saw my English test scores, i immediately booked for the next available date in late May. I doubled my practice in listening and reading using all available resources pointed out. I particularly enjoyed using edx tutorials, ieltstestonline.com and Liz. I also used Jay’s tutorials on speaking and writing.
After my final ietls exams, i was expectant of a good set of scores because I knew the favour of God was upon me and I had done my bit with preparations. The morning in early June when I saw my scores was a beautiful one and my scores were LRSW 9,8.5,7.5,7. My crs score was now 451!

SECOND ITA
After my final ielts scores and my improved crs, I promptly received ITA in the next draw in early June and the cutoff score was same as my CRS...451. I was super excited and I submitted my application 10 days after got ITA because I had gathered my documents ahead and I also had a valid medicals that had not expired.

AOR
After AOR, I was checking my profile almost every day and very active on this thread. Everything was running smoothly and I was really expectant that my application would be approved before my 1st medicals expire. In October 2018, I got an update on my account that my background check had started and I had even ordered gcms notes a month

Rence22:
My fellow nairalanders. I appreciate your help so far despite the fact that I haven't really gone too far. I am just at the ECA stage and registered for ielts next month. It's with a very great sadness that I might have to pull out of this canny dream. Really sad for me. hubby has seriously been reluctant. Says he loves his Naija and God has not instructed him to leave Nigeria and until he receives his heavenly dream from God, he is not going anywhere. He actually said if I want to go badly, I should. But here's the problem, with 3 kids ages 5 3, and 1.5 years old. How do I cope with daycare, job search, mobility, picking up from schools, groceries, and upkeep alone in Canada. To worsen it, he isn't supporting financially. I even offered and begged to have him sit for ielts and his eca with my monthly pay he reluctantly said yes but I thought, one can only force a horse to the river but not to drink. Without his help how will I survive with 3 beautiful kids alone in Canada. He is not even batting an eye concerning the benefits. He's a speedy driver, says cars are meant for speed how will such a person cope with Canadian traffic rules. These and some little others have just weakened me especially my children and the highest I can even leave them is a week. We are that close that they have never gone to bed without my hug and kisses. I dont have any family over there to help with. Good night.

THE STORY SO FAR

Hey guys!

It has been a long while since I visited this thread (or is it called trend?), and today, I felt I should share what has been going on at my end with the hope of encouraging someone.

So, when I started this journey November, I was so excited, and I felt passing IELTS and getting ITA was going to be a breeze until IELTS 'jammed me'.

My first attempt was January 19, and I was so sure of getting nothing less than 8 in writing, but, alas, I had L-9, R-8.5, W-6.5, S-7, and I didn't even stop there because I asked for EOR, but it came back unchanged.

However, I didn't give up, and I booked the next available date, April 9th, and the test was computer delivered, and yay! I passed!
L-9, R-9, W-7, S-7, but it did not end there, and in fact, that is where my story begins because I asked for EOR again. Actually, at this point, my score was 444, and I had been hoping to at least get 450.

You see, after my first attempt, I came to this forum for assistance, and I joined Wasseynewest's writing group to familiarise myself with the essay structures, @bunmioluwa also introduced me to writeandimprove.com, a wonderful site for IELTS. Furthermore, I downloaded Grammarly app on my laptop, from the Microsoft store, and that made me realise some of my writing mistakes, and I worked on these by watching some youtube videos.

When I started practising with writeandimprove.com, my score was 6.5, but, before the test, I was consistently getting 8, sometimes 8.5, under examination conditions. So, that prompted me to ask for a remark when my results came out because I badly needed 3 extra points at least.

Fortunately, as God would have it, I got 6 points extra because I received my EOR report today.

L-9, R-9, W-7.5, S-8. Halleluyah somebody!

I guess what I am trying to say is that you should seek assistance when you need it because in this journey, being full of yourself isn't going to help you one bit, and secondly, even if you 'pass' the test, and you need extra points, consider asking for a remark first before rewriting the test. You might be surprised!

Thank you @wasseynewest @bunmioluwa and every other person that dropped one tip or the other when I needed it most.

I wish you all the best.

Yes filling the WES WAEC form with the scratch card details and sending it to WES via hello fax is the best way to do it (no cost and fast) . Prior to doing this, I had sent WAEC scratch card three times to WES via courier service without any result. So I decided to buy the WAEC scratch card, fill the WAEC form with the details on the scratch card and send it to WES via hello fax. WES sent an acknowledgement mail the next day indicating they have received it and gave me a date for completion of my evaluation. So it actually works

This EE process though(smh)
I can’t remember what I was dreaming about this morning but I just woke up and realised that i had spent 6months in Togo for my year abroad !!!! I need Togo’s PCC

I started to panic, I quickly logged into Canada.ac.. and the requirements for Togo’s PCC had some scoin scoin.. there was no link or anything like the directives for Uk PCC..

I was already sad because this is me that had all my documents ready since God knows when .

My brother was asking me are you sure you need it , it’s just Togo and I was like I don’t understand IRCC clearly states ( see me quoting constitution)

I was like since part 4 I don’t think have read about Togo’s PCC. I deceived I would ask later however, my mood had changed .. and just while was munching biscuit my brain clicked ..

I travelled to Togo in Jan 2011, I had come home for Easter break sometime in March or April, went back and returned in June finally .:.

If you see the way I jumped people of Naria land .. no one needs the extra stress abeg

Good morning every one ... for every one who did not make their ielts please don’t give up and congrats to others on IELTS, PPR, copr, ECA et Les autres choses ....

Bonne journée

At this point after the 2nd IELTS, I realized I needed to complete my post grad degree so as to evaluate my degrees as 2 or more, because with my WES evaluated BSC, CSR will max out at 430, at the time regular EE draws benched at 441. Fast forward to September, SINP revamped their entire PNP system. You now apply via the EOI system instead of the rat race called fastest fingers. Well, wifey’s occupation was in demand. We created an Expression of Interest with score 64. In 2 weeks, We got ITA to SINP. Well, wifey is very meticulous so she jejely packaged, employment offer letter, promotions, salary breakdown, pension, Tax clearance, salary account, a detailed reference letter with both HR and her direct supervisor’s contact details. Infact every and anything you can think of was included. My dear people...We submitted our application to SINP on Nov 2, 2018 and we were nominated Nov, 14 2018. It took SINP 13 days. I still think this is a record!!!

Medicals

Well, at this point we over 980points so ITA Na sure banker, we went ahead and did medicals. We chose IOM Abuja for our medicals. Everything was a breeze till I was told to pee into a container. My people I strained and strained not even a drop. The nurse was begging...Oga pls come out...drink water and try again. Hmmmm...that was how I almost finished the entire gallon on the water dispenser, when I finally peed, my urine was as translucent as water, I had my doubts. I thought the result was show I peed water not urine. Wifey was pregnant at this point, so a protective clothing was wrapped round her tummy for the X-ray. No issues there.

ITA 28 Nov 2018

SINP PNP application is so organized that it directly prepares you for post ITA. All the forms were already on file. So we just populated Post ITA forms and submitted December 3, 2019. But some reason my AOR reads December 4, don’t ask me..Ask CIC. For POF we used Tbills purchased on our joint account. We raised LOE explaining this and we both signed, we also attached the previous Tbills certificate purchased on the account, bank reference letter, account statement. Please note that this over Sabi for POF was almost our undoing. More on this later.

Medical passes/Biometrics
At this point, MEP took about 45 days. Our notification came January 16, and we used VFS Abuja for Biometrics.

Almighty Accra

22 January we raised CSE for VO. lo and behold, Almighty Accra...-My heart sunk. We were hoping for a speedy process so ewifey can have our baby in Canada. With Accra that hope was brutally dashed. I exited some EE groups and stopped visiting NL. I found the AVO group and followed them bumper to bumper. Those guys are the real MVP. Them dey try. My first shock was how they celebrate ADR in the group. You would think someone just collect the PR card...Those days were tough...I ordered for GCMS notes, guess what POF was flagged...POF RR...I was floored...turned out the officer got confused with all the previous certificates attached and all. We should have just attached the present certificate, we didn’t even need to attach account statement as they could always ask for them if need be. I dwill codes to wait for ADR from AVO.

New born addition

Our princess arrived safely in our hot Nigeria instead of cold canny as earlier envisaged. We waited 10days then sent Accra a mail notifying them of our intention to add a dependent. Accra responded after 2 days (April 10)listing the pre-requisites and those must be met in 30days. Meanwhile passport office after capturing our princess then claimed no booklet...wahala...I bombarded them with calls and frequent visits. Those guys no bulge. Las Las after 2 weeks, a friend I met online made some calls and booklet appeared. As I was about to submit that another ADR landed. Accra’s famous 6-salary acct, Updated POF, nomination very, schedule A, pay slips and family change. I hustled the ADR and submitted everything together May 1.

May 10, our baby was added to our application, May 17...Ghost update...May 22nd...PPR

Our application was not perfect, but mercy found us... Everyone else still waiting... surely you will know joy soon...just hang in there...

Sir Johnny. Really? angry

Remember you had to decline your ITA over this same ish? It’s like you’ve forgotten how hard it was for you to get your complete POF.
Na joke na. But seriously, she said her family will give her money in some months time; at least, she is sure of POF. Then why is she asking for another means of POF all because she can’t wait for her family? There are many people that don’t even have a family to support them.

Nevertheless, my apologies to Aigbemare. I never meant to be that obnoxious. I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

How do I sign up? This IELTS writing matter is becoming an embarrassment for me because I am a Communications/Web Specialist and writing is a major part of my work. My 1st attempt: L - 8.5 R - 9 S - 8.5 W - 6.5. 2nd attempt: L - 9 R - 9 S - 8 W - 6.5

Check my previous posts. You’ll see my number. Or you can dm me, and later check your spam box for my replies; that’s where my messages seem to go.
