A Lagos state resident, Ugo Friday, has dragged a 41-year-old tailor, Monday Udor, before an Ajegunle Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging his clothes worth N10,000.

At the hearing of the case yesterday Tuesday May 14th, the prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the plaintiff had taken his clothes to Udor’s shop at No 2 Kudaisi street Olodi Apapa on April 4th for them to be made. Udor however failed to deliver his clothes as at when due and that the clothes were partly burnt when he was ironing them.

The prosecutor told the court that Friday asked for a refund of the cost of the clothes, but the defendant refused to pay. He informed the court that the offence contravenes the provision of Section 339 of the Lagos State Criminal Code Laws, 2015.

The magistrate, Mrs. Oluwakemi Williams-Isichie, granted Udor bail in the sum of N20,000 with two responsible sureties, who must show evidence of tax payment. The case was then adjourned until June 3rd for mention.
