The telecom giant MTN Nigeria is expected to List By Introduction on the Nigerian stock exchange tomorrow the 16th of May 2019. This listing comes after years of waiting for the telecoms giant to list, being one of the conditions agreed by the Nigerian Communications commission (NCC) for its inability to disconnect improperly registered SIM cards.

In its journey to being listed on the Nigerian bourse, MTN Nigeria applied to the SEC and converted from a private company to a public liability company (PLC), while it also recently registered a total of 20,354,513,050 shares which is expected to be listed on the Nigerian bourse at a rumored NGN90 per share.

MTN Nigeria currently has a total of 60.3 million subscribers and 20.4 million active data users while also controlling a total of 50% market share by revenue. The company also boast of capable hands at the helm of affairs from the position of the chief executive officer to the chief technical officer.

MTN Nigeria also boast a solid long term investment case with the telco giant being the leading mobile network provider in Africa’s biggest market with the largest fibre optics coverage in Nigeria and further growth opportunities in Fintech, given the fast growing youthful population and low data and banking penetration. In terms of market share, MTN Nigeria currently controls about 38.9% of total market share while Globacom controls 26.2%, Airtel controls 25.6% and 9 Mobile controls 9.2%.
